Chances are, you are STUPID!

If you want to know what a liberal thinks, I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm not a liberal. I'm a rationalist.

So please do enlighten me with your arcane wisdom. What is the rationalist conclusion to my inquiry?

Preferably an answer which doesn't include a bit from a mediocre dead comedian.

Sophistry.

But sophism was Carlin’s schtick.

Indeed. Sophistry wasn't what George Carlin was all about. He didn't use deceitful rhetoric just to make a point.

Ask a rational question. I will give you a rational answer. If it is allowed here. But if it isn't, I know a place where it can be. But you are anything like just about everybody I have ever spoken to at any forum, you aren't the least bit interested in knowing that. And you claim to want enlightenment? I doubt it. In fact, you would probably do everything in your power to keep that from happening.

I recently saw that George Carlin did a routine on the education system here in the U.S. I was surprised to see him saying the same sorts of things that I have been saying for years. I'll show you the video. Watch it. You might learn something.

I tried clicking on this link myself to watch the video. It didn't play worth a damn. You might be better off watching it on youtube. Just enter there, "What George Carlin had to say about education."

As if all that wasn't bad enough, in his first meeting with Reagan after he was elected president, this is one of the things CIA director William Casey had to tell Reagan. Why does the government act that way? My best guess is that as the old saying goes, "Knowledge is power." And the government wants you powerless in that regard.

It's ironic that you'd post a quote attributed to William Casey about disinformation, that is likely in itself, to be disinformation. The bigger irony for any anti-government Trumpist out there who believes it, is that this quote is attributed to Barbara Honegger a Sandford Journalist and well known progressive at the time who accused the Regan campaign of interfering with the rescue of hostages from Iran during the end of the Carter administration to prevent the hostage release until after the election. She accused the administration of gender inequity and championed civil rights and supported candidates like including Ross Perot and Jesse Jackson. That said, regardless, there is no public record of this quote and at best it's unverified and is a poor example if you're going to talk about disinformation.

As far as Carlin, he was a funny cynic who was good at pointing out flaws, some of which were true, but like most things, it's easy to tear something down, much harder to build it.

Again, ironically, the people most likely to feel as if they are rational actors who see the world for what it really is are those that believe in conspiracies like chemtrails, flat earth, that Kennedy was assassinated because [insert theory here], that the Federal Reserve is run by wealthy Jews or a cabal of wealthy families to fleece the American public and the list goes on and on......

The quote by Casey isn't disinformation. I will post a link to one of the many websites on the matter.

I haven't heard a lot of George Carlin's routines. But I never known him to say something that wasn't true. Next, you can't build shit because the thing still standing will prevent you from doing so. You have to tear that thing down first before you can even think of building something different. For good or bad, that's just the way things are.

An interesting dodge to the point. Which reinforces that point. I am a Rationalist. Neither am I some crackpot conspiracy theorist. I know the TRUTH! I told you of a way for me to tell you of it, elsewhere. Because it can't be done here. Instead, you slander rationalists with your opinion that such people tend to believe in chemtrails, flat earth and the like. It's pretty sad.

No, not at all, but the Dunning-Kruger effect leads those that are least qualified to hold options about things the be convinced that, in fact, they are very qualified. Not sure where the slander accusation stems from, doesn't seem all that rational to me.
