Well......800 hours training, right? Assuming an 8 hour workday = 100 days. You did say 800 hours training, correct? Did I misread that?

Prior to that you stated 24 months Field Training; 1 year x 365 days = 730

Yes you misread that. Where did I ever mention 800 hours? Its not accurate. 2 years is common for field training but not required to get your basic certificate

Yes in this context none of those people are trained exclusively in a citizen non military environment. You will not be carrying a M4 or breaching doors here

Speaking strictly shooting and tactics, neither are most cops. Most cops only shoot enough to pass qualification once or twice a year and then they hardly touch their guns again. If one armed teacher starts a shooting spree, the other teachers can either barricade themselves with their firearms, evacuate the children, or, if trained to do so, form a response team and take care of it. Besides, don't you think the cop is just as likely to shoot ten kids too? We hear of cops being trigger happy and yet you only want them to be armed around children?

I don't have any evidence in front of me to see if you are correct but since I am a use of force expert I can tell you cops have far more bad shoots than armed citizens on our streets. so much for that vaunted training

Not in all departments. My sheriff's office has a two month FTO and in a year you're considered a full fledged cop with all the benefits and protections.
