It's obvious that our liberal opponents here at DP aren't very knowledgeable when it comes to most issues and especially when it comes to
guns. So this post is to give them some knowledge and a warning. Be careful what you wish for.

Liberals.....as you feverishly froth at the mouth trying to ban semi automatic military looking rifles, allow me to tell you what is going to fill the void. The pump action shotgun. The pump action shotgun is a platform many times more
powerful than the AR-15. It fires shotshells of many different variety for many different applications. From buckshot to dragons breath. With buckshot each pull of the trigger launches multiple projectiles usually 9- .30caliber balls totaling 1 full
ounce of lead. These projectiles spread as they leave the barrel making successfully hitting your target much much easier. Pumps load, reload, or top off extremely fast and hold from 5 to 9 shells usually. An active shooter and with a pump shotgun is just as if not more deadly in a school setting. Expect less shots but less misses. Each hit less survivable. It is very possible that you take this problem from bad to worst.

I have extensive training in both platforms. It is bad news either way.
 
No worries. We want all guns banned.
 
Americans could make do with a semi-auto ban on all weapons.

Revolvers, bolt action rifles, shotguns - no magazines over 5-7
 
There are not liberal opponents on DP, only liberal members. Calling people like me opponents is acting like your fake god Trump the Terrorist.

If you hate liberals, your head is under rocks. Liberals have no interest in banning all firearms and ammunition - that would require not having a military. What they want are an assault weapons ban that includes semi-automatic and fully automatic guns, much stronger background checks, and a minimum age increase to 21. Those polices are just plain old common sense strategies based on the information we have about mass shootings.

You were supposed to stick to the plan.

First establish, as a firm legal precedent, that ‘criminal abuse’ of X type of gun (preferably only scary black rifles used in only 2% of “gun crimes”) provides a ‘compelling state interest’ for banning possession (not merely new sales) of X type of guns.

Next ban Y type of gun (say semi-auto guns with detachable magazines) on the basis of that same firmly established legal precedent. Rinse and repeat…

A repeating rifle holds 14 rounds with no magazine and plenty were made pre-1899 and are outside of federal jurisdiction

I don't think he believes that based on the general nature of his over the top silly posts but if he does, I give him credit for honesty because so many of his leftwing fellow travelers say they just want the "next" reasonable law all the way to a complete gun ban

I disagree. The void will probably be filled with other semiautomatic rifles, like the one used in the Buffalo shooting, the one used to kill >60 people in the Norway massacre, or by semiautomatic handguns like the ones used to kill 33 people at VA Tech.
