Canadian-style trucker protests spread throughout the world

Hmmmmmm

I can't remember when you cared about Antifa or BLM blocking US highways.

I could be wrong here
I have no expectation you would recall my posts but you are most definitely wrong about that. I have always been supportive of legal, peaceful protests no matter whether I support the cause, even some small level of civil disobedience like walking across a bridge arm in arm for an hour, but never have I condoned behaviours that significantly interferes with the right of others to conduct their day-to-day lives.

ETA If I did I was probably being a jerk to make a point or take a jab.😊😉

OK. I also appreciate certain disobediences as long as they do not affect the well being of innocent people.

It's a shame that American liberals do not share your values.

I stand corrected...................... and offer a kindly thank you. (y)

Those trucks are at the main staging area, the side streets where trucks are lined up have at least one lane open for emergency vehicles per the agreement by the truckers. I'll try to grab a shot of the side areas when one of the streamers goes down the side streets.
Nice to see balanced and some real information getting through all the obfuscation. (y)
Kudos to SlyFox, and thanks!

I understand that but emergencies happen on all streets not just main streets or side streets. I heard that there was an injunction issued today against the air horn blowing. Not sure what that is going to accomplish. Fines and tickets won't cut it.
Because you'd prefer prosecution and persecution of those who don't politically agree with you?
It wouldn't surprise me if you did.

Not at all , I actually welcome different political views when legally and logically presented. I only care about the rule of law and an orderly way to oppose that with which we do not agree.

There are plenty of live streams on YT for people who want to see this stuff first hand. Travel fun 69, Bowlleux Mobil, Ottawa walks. Just be sure to hit the "live" button or you'll get previously recorded feeds from earlier days. One thing I can tell you is, there is so much food being handed out for free to the truckers, the homeless and the public. Nobody leaves hungry unless they chose to.

grills.webp

'the rule of law', i.e. the Canadian Federal government, has taken steps to minimalize and marginalize those of opposing viewpoint to theirs. How else to explain Trudeau's statement of 'fringe minority'? This fringe minority has shown themselves on the sidewalks all along the trucker's route to Ottawa, and they certainly appear to be anything but a 'fringe'. They sure appear to be more than a 'fringe' of the electorate.

May the protest continue to proceed in a peaceful and respectful manner is my hope with no altercations or violence.

I wonder how many of them will get a ventilator tube jammed down their throat and have to get fed by direct gastric tube.... more free food courtesy of Canadian Medicare.

Wow, even Finland got onboard. Liberal heads explode.
My head is perfectly intact.

Since when did truckers become such whiny weenies?

It's their choice to take it or leave it right?

Yep. And as I noted, they are representing the stupidest 10% of truckers, since 90% had the basic common sense to get the vaccine.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the people getting fed. As I've mentioned before, there are a lot of people who absolutely are vaccinated but don't support mandates. We've literally seen protests of various occupations here in the USA that have protested mandates. Teachers, healthcare workers, large corporations being just a few examples. So I'm not sure how you can assume that the truckers at this protest are all unvaccinated vs not agreeing with the mandates.

Truckers along with everyone else has a rigjt to choice and the consequences of that choice . They do not have the right to deny others their freedoms

Good point. There might be vaccinated truckers there promoting the deaths...errr....freedom of some other truckers.

I supposed thats one way to lessen the competition.

Yet what is the Canadian government wanting to force onto truckers who don't want the jab?

Nothing more than is required of anyone crossing the border.

Not really any sort of excuse for Canadian government overreach, Authoritarianism, and tyranny. 🤷‍♂️
What else would you call forcing medication on those who do not wish to receive it? Body autonomy? 'My Body, My Choice'? Anyone?
Or have we receded to the point now that we've given up these ideals because it's 'what we politically agree with'?

I would call it ‘standard infectious disease practice for most of the 20th century’.

But that seems like a point you can’t grasp.
