Canadian rockers Nickelback headlining U.S. ‘patriot’ music festival tour (1 Viewer)

Know which local (Vancouver) band didn't get enough respect? Doug and the Slugs. Saw them in clubs a couple times, Doug Bennet was the first guy I saw doing rock in a business suit until I saw Huey Lewis on MTV.

In between are doors."

A couple of notes :

- A Canadian band headlining an US patriot concert tour is like Justin Beiber headlining a Motown concert. Hilarious, except only 1 is true.

- Lynyrd Skynyrd's current lineup doesn't have a single original band member left. It is incredible that they are still calling themselves Lynyrd Skynyrd.

- There is serious discussion about whether 3 Doors Down is an objectively worse band than Nickleback.

- Gavin Adcock is what Tom McDonald wishes he could have become if only he hadn't turned his face into a 6th grade desk.

- I had to look up what a Big & Rich are and this was it :

Yikes.

Anyways, best of luck to all these guys and their flag covered grift. It is the golden age and there is no time like the present.

😃

I know it's fashionable to hate Nickelback (I'm not a fan either), but the answer to your question is simple: $$$

Dear America:

The onslaught of crappy Canadian bands will continue until the tariffs stop.

FU,
Canada 🇨🇦 🖕
Okay, but you have to take Kid Rock in trade. We won't charge a tariff.

Shame on me for forgetting Gordon Lightfoot.
If I had to name a personal #1 song of all time, it would have to be Lightfoot's Carefree Highway.
Add Anne Murray to the list. My first celebrity crush. 😍

I played Snowbird so often I'm sure my parents considered putting me up for adoption.

I saw him perform about 7(?) years ago. His body was getting feeble but his voice was still strong.

When he sang Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald he pointed out that the band backing him that evening was the same group that originally recorded the song.

It was his birthday and he hung around the lobby cutting cake and chatting with fans.

Class act.

I was fortunate to see him at the King center in Melbourne Florida, awesome show.

Nickelback and Kid Rock on the same stage!! It's enough to make a guy wear noise canceling headphones.
Or not go at all and save the money.

One artist I wish I'd seen in a live performance.
I was lucky enough to have seen him 3 times, but I was too young to really appreciate everything he had to offer. I think one needs some age and wisdom to hone a taste for the blues -- it does not come naturally. But once it gets you, it gets you.
