The article itself wraps these data points inside stories of Jews fleeing Canada for the United States or Israel, but that discussion appears more heavy on anecdote and word of mouth than on stats.

But these bits in the middle are unfortunate :(

Canada has seen a 124.6 percent increase in antisemitic incidents from 2022 to 2024, according to Jewish human rights organization B’nai Brith Canada. Canada’s Jews make up 0.9 percent of the population but are the victims of 70 percent of religious hate crimes.

There have been weekly anti-Israel protests nationwide since October 7, often featuring praise for Hamas, calls for intifada, and celebrations of Islamist “resistance.” Some of these rallies have also seen Nazi salutes; chants of “death to Jews,” “explode the head of zionists,” and calls for a “final solution”; protesters dressing up as Hamas militants; the burning in effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with Israeli and Canadian flags; and the flying of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Taliban flags. Meanwhile, an anti-Israel protest against a NATO summit saw demonstrators torch cars and smash the windows of buildings.

Not content to hold their rallies on random street corners, anti-Israel protesters are targeting Jewish neighborhoods, synagogues, Jewish community centers, and even Jewish hospitals. There have been multiple shots fired at Canadian Jewish schools, multiple synagogues have been firebombed and vandalized, and Jewish businesses have been hit with property damage and boycott campaigns. There has also been a coordinated bomb threat targeting over 100 Canadian Jewish institutions, and most recently, the national Holocaust memorial in Ottawa was desecrated... According to a survey conducted by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), 82 percent of Canadian Jews feel less safe in their country...

That doesn't fit my mental image of the country, but, the old saw goes that "Americans are benevolently ignorant about Canada, while Canadians are malevolently well-informed about the United States", so.....

Oh look, another thread desperate to equate opposition to Israel’s mass murder campaign to “anti semitism”.

Ironically, some of these hateful antisemitic Canadians are the same people who freely call DJT a Nazi.

so Israel's mass murders and attempted genocide have increased hate for Israel. Because of the hard connection between the state of Israel and the Jewish religion, that hate has unfortunately spilled over into anti semitism. None of this is very hard to understand, but we need to recognise that any increase in hate towards the Jewish people today is being directly driven by Israel's immoral genocide. I find my personal feelings towards Israel have changed from what was once support, to disgust today. For me though I differentiate between the state of Israel and the Jewish religion, so nothing has changed in how I relate to my Jewish friends who are not Israelis. That distinction is not however so clear for people feeling more directly harmed by Israels actions it seems.

The explanation is simple. All of these victims were Zionists who just happen to be Jewish.

I expect antisemitism is reported and recorded to a far higher degree than anti Islamic or anti Hindu hate crimes are in Canada

Just go on Facebook or any social media in Canada and you will easily see hatefull comments towards South Asian. For proof search comments about Brampton Ontario.

More to the point, antisemitic acts have a far lower bar to pass before being recorded by authorities than do acts towards South Asian of Hindu or Islamic backgrounds

Unfortunately the recent rise of antisemitism is a global phenomenon that Canada isn't immune to.

We also had attacks on Islamic sites after the attack on our Parliament by a lone gunman.

Many Mosques and Synagogues work together in Canada to help provide for a more understanding environment and tamp down extremist rhetoric.

Rises in antisemitism should hardly be surprising, similar to how rises in Islamic fundamentalist terror attacks occurred after the invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

It turns out if you kill a bunch of people in the name of an ethnoreligious nation state, the people who are religiously and ethnically sympathetic to those being murdered become more racist toward the murderers.

More than anything, articles like the OP come across as a form of gaslighting. People with massive audiences like Shapiro and Lyndsey Graham can call for turning the homeland of your people into a Walmart parking lot on national TV (which is okay, apparently) but if some illiterate retard draws a backwards Swastika on a synagogue, this is a cause for serious concern.

The democrats lack of condemnation of the Pro Palestinian protest and the calls for Intifada seems to have encouraged other leftists to play their anti semitic cards.

Hamas, Hezbollah and Taliban are all designated terrorist organizations in Canada.

Anyone flying their flag will find themselves on the RCMP's radar, if they're not already.

Had a lesser form of a similar experience in my church.

"It's so terrible, what's happening"
"Yup; the innocent usually suffer the most in conflict like this"
"And there are so many innocents"
"Oh yeah: urban conflict sucks"
"And the Jews attacked themselves on Oct 7th. You know they run our government, right?"

Sweetest lady you'll ever meet. I was shocked, but, she's from Central Asia, where this sort of conspiracy theory is more commonplace, I guess.

Mine usually goes
Person A“I hate the US.”
Me: “Right now yeah me too”
Person A: “i’d rather support ISIS or the taliban than the US!”
Me: “you do know ISIS would behead you and beheads innocent Iraqis on a regular basis right?…..”
I even got yelled at for saying supporting Hamas is a bad idea in some circles. I support the liberation of palestinians.

yup. when I am getting charitable, I think of those types as ignorant idiots blinded by tribalism, but, hard to distinguish them from evil, sometimes.

Like. I believe in the worthiness of destroying HAMAS, and Israels' right to exist and defend itself, but, the flip side of that is someone cheering for Israel to kill as many civilians as possible.... and (like your point about liberating Palestinians) that's just... completely antithetical to my purpose, even if they think we are on the same "side"
