Don't diss Harley racing, dude...LOL!!!

Seriously, though, Harley has be quite involved in racing...from the beginning.

a century in which the company not only became the most-dominant motorcycle race team in history, but also the most respected manufacturer in the business.

Really!!! I assume the author was referring to racing only in the US. I do not recall reading of Harley Davison's domination for a century of European motorcycle racing - where the real competition lies. :)

Yes I can

I can also drive a motorcycle which has a clutch and manual tranny

My current car though is a manumatic.

A 7 speed auto with paddle shifters (Nissan 370Z)

The only thing better than that is a continuous variable with paddle shifters, like my Subaru.

Not only can I drive a stick, but a column-shift as well. I LOVE driving a stick! It is so much more fun. The only time I would prefer to own an automatic would be if I had to do a daily stop-and-go commute. Then, and only then, is an automatic a better option.

I learned to drive on my dad's 3 on the tree ford POS pick-up when I was 12. don't think I ever drove an automatic until well after HS

I have not driven a CVT before, so I cant say

but I do know the 7sp auto is faster then the 6 spd manual in the 370Z

I can drive manual. My last car was manual but newest is auto. My wife refused to even let me try and teach her to drive stick. I prefer manual except in traffic but untill i got married i never paid much attention to whether it was manual or auto I just got the best car for the price.
As to bikes i have a Ducati 748 with a bored and stroked 996 engine in it and 2 1/2 old Kawasakis 750/650's. (1 is on the road, one needs electricals done and a few small things and the 1/2 is bits in the shed) the Kz70 is my road bike cause massive increase in costs of plates on the Ducati made me take it off the road and use it only for a track days. Still most beautiful bike ever made. Not into Harleys theyre too heavy and vibrate too much.

My bro has a Ducati 900ss in a 748 frame, Kinda cool as our bikes look alike but are sooo very very different! And yeah the dry clutches sound great clacka clacka clacka clacka clack...

Four of my ex boyfriends drove stick shifts. Two of them tried to teach me. I failed.

The author also overlloks the 'sixties, when the AMA had to rewrite the rulebook to stop Triumph winning all the prizes...

I'm sure it is.
Cars have improved a lot over the past few years, haven't they?

Drastically,

From safety to performance and emmisions cars are better today then any time in history

My current car is faster then all but modified muscle cars built in the late 60s, it has better brakes, and is far safer
Heck a modern Honda Accord coupe with the V6 is faster then all but the big block muscle cars of the 60s
