The San Bernardino County, California, Sheriff's Office opened two investigations Thursday only hours after an NBC Los Angeles helicopter recorded deputies using a stun gun on a man on a stolen horse and then beating him repeatedly.
In the video, a sheriff's helicopter can be seen landing next to the man, who falls off the horse and is stunned by one of the deputies. Two deputies begin punching him in the head and kneeing him in the groin. Then, three others arrive and join in the pummeling, which lasts about two minutes.
The sheriff's office identified the man in a statement as Francis Jared Pusok, 30, of Apple Valley. It said Pusok was being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries.
Horse theft used to mean a death penalty back in the day, seems like this guy got off easy
American police are going crazy, out of interested how many of your Police force are Iraq/Afghan war Vets?
The problem is....juries keep letting cops walk despite this stuff being caught on tape. When juries send the message that they will look the other way, it creates an air of invincibility with bad cops. They believe that they are above the law and are free to engage in any misconduct that they want...and why shouldn't they?.....juries will never hold them accountable.
We're not "back in the day". Point dismissed.Horse theft used to mean a death penalty back in the day, seems like this guy got off easy
I agree that bad cops are in the minority, but until we stop giving the bad cops a pass we still need to "out" the bad cops whenever they're caught stepping over the line.I find that bad cops are generally the minority. I haven't seen or heard of any incidents around here involving cops in a WHILE.
You just have to remember that stupid people always get the spotlight.

The cops didn't start striking the guy until he put his hands behind his back while laying on the ground. Such cowards.
I just saw this video on the news. WTF?
One of the cops kicked him right between the legs and then they all piled on and beat on him.
IMO it was a bunch of hot tired cops that were pissed they had to chase the guy on foot.
No excuse, no excuse at all.
Of course, if he had stolen my horse, and I caught up with him first, they would have found that somehow, he broke his neck when he fell off.
And here we go again:
The rest of the story and indeed disturbing video of an unarmed man, tasered with his hands folded on his back being assaulted by several police officers without there being an obvious justification for such violence, can be found here:
California Sheriff Investigates 'Disturbing' Video of Suspect Being Beaten - NBC News
It is again disturbing to see and I would assume one or more of these officers need to find themselves new jobs outside of law enforcement because from what we see here does not shout "competent police officer".
They used to hang Horse thieves.
This guy got off EZ.
And no there's no similarities to what happened to this crook and what happened in South Carolina.
No, hanging horse thieves was ridiculous when it happened, also, we are not living the wild west anymore. The US is a country of justice so he did not get off EZ, he was beaten half to death by a few POS bad apples of cops. Most cops might be good officers but these officers are scum.
And there is a similarity, in both cases cops go mad and commit crimes and commit police brutality.
Screw him.
The POS was the jackass crook that ripped off someones property in a attempt to allude the Police.
You're not going to get any sympathy from me. He's a low life and he'll survive that beating to rip someone else off another day.

The horse got injured. Why did that asshole steal the horse? He's lucky it wasn't my horse he stole and who was injured because of his idiocy. I'd have kicked him in the nuts myself.
