Well, your post attacked 'grandstanding' and assigning the work to others. I simply pointed some examples where just that was done and where epic fails were the result of the Head Fred keeping the planning to himself....
No doubt the oil companies will try and defend record profits. Yet another outright lie to tRump's America First blather. He should have decoupled our oil companies here in the USofA from the oil cartel price fixing schemes....
You people don’t want new production, what are you talking about?
The state of California is purposefully shutting down refineries
Hmmm so the plan has to have solid parameters before being announced???I’m not saying that it was a bad idea. I’m simply saying that without defining “excessive profits” it’s totally meaningless.
It’s no different than the Governor saying “I plan to end homelessness in CA” and then telling the CA legislature to try to come up with some way of doing so.
What you support is irrelevant. You are trying to defend California government policy by bringing up diversions that will never be enacted as policyIf you don't care about what I support, feel free to scroll past.
The State of California is literally banning conventional automobiles and working with activist groups to shut down existing refineries. There is now an astroturf “racial Justice” group in Wilmington trying to shut down a chevron refinery there because “it’s not healthy for us to live next to this refinery where we choose to live and also it’s racist”This sounds like more right-wing lunacy to me.

Joe Biden literally said the oil industry is racist because black people might live near a refinery
I have no clue why you would even deny this when they are openly saying that they want to end all fossil fuel use

Perhaps it is the governor of one of the largest users of gasoline putting the oil companies on notice. In baseball parlance- a brushback pitch...
I put out a proposal that would improve the situation. What you support is irrelevant. You are trying to defend California government policy by bringing up diversions that will never be enacted as policy
You people must be confused. 'The State' of California isn't shutting down the refineries. Marathon is converting its Martinez plant to renewable diesel fuel. The Rodeo plant being converted to renewable cooking fuels. These are some of the bigger refineries- why the oil companies choose these plants is a good question. Shutting down or greatly reducing production in 4 refineries for 'maintenance' is seen as the cause for high California prices, not 'The State' purposely shutting down refineries...You people don’t want new production, what are you talking about? Having goals is bad now???Yep, otherwise it’s not a plan its simply a goal. That’s much more likely.
Having goals is bad now???
Time will tell...
You seem to have gone from broad generalizations to a very anal definition. Who determines when a goal becomes a plan??Having goals is fine, just don’t call them plans. For example: was TrumpCare (medical care insurance which would cost less and cover everyone) ‘coming soon’ a goal or a plan?

tRumpcare- neither fish or fowl but yet another fantasy con from the Orange Buffoon...
Riiiiiiight.Oil companies do not set the price of oil, nor refined products
The price is set at the Chicago mercantile exchange by commodities tradingRiiiiiiight.
I've been meaning to talk to you about this bridge I have for sale...
I want you and/or Gruesome to show me proof of price gouging. And NOT opinions either.Making money is fine. Making it by price gouging (AKA ripping people off) is not.
They weren't doing fine when COVID crashed the prices. They lost billions.I'm not in the oil business, but it seems to me they were doing fine when the price of gas was about half what it is now.
No. Gas was cheap because the price of oil crashed during the opening salvo of COVID.Gas was cheap because Trump was in business with big oil.
I want you and/or Gruesome to show me proof of price gouging. And NOT opinions either.
And the oil producers getting together and deciding to cut production has nothing to do with this? The price is set at the Chicago mercantile exchange by commodities trading
Do you not buy gas?I want you and/or Gruesome to show me proof of price gouging. And NOT opinions either.
We bailed them out to the tune of billions as well. They weren't doing fine when COVID crashed the prices. They lost billions.
In fact, in 2020 the five integrated supermajors (i.e., “Big Oil”) – ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Chevron, and Total – lost $76 billion.
If Oil Companies Control Prices, Why Do They Ever Lose Money?
High oil prices are currently driving inflation and leading to high oil company profits. Yet many people still have cause and effect reversed.www.forbes.com
So...no proof then.Do you not buy gas?
