California moving forward with partisan redistricting effort to counter Texas’ move

California Governor Gavin Newsome.....

"California won't stand by and watch Trump burn it all down — we are calling a special election to redraw our Congressional maps and defend fair representation. Mr. Trump is trying to rig the system and as a consequence, we need to disabuse ourselves of the way things have been done. We have got to recognize the cards that have been dealt. And we have got to meet fire with fire."

Newsome is 100% right and I agree 100%. Already 5 GOP state Governors say they want to redraw their state districts like Texas.

And they are doing this in mid-decade. House districts are supposed to be redrawn only after each new federal census. The next US census isn't until 2030.

I believe exactly what the founder of Crowds on Demand stated. Is it possible for you to get over your indoctrination to understand that you can research this and my position is accurate? Of course, you can't. You don't have the inclination to recognize just how indoctrinated you are.
Do you actually think that people are being paid to get arrested in protests? Just think about how stupid that sounds.

It would be an excellent win for the country and the democratic process if all states were required to have independent commissions for redistricting, as well as, sufficient voting locations so that people are not subject to unreasonable wait times. Mail in voting has worked well for Oregon.
As far as I know, only one party has ever proposed Federally mandated independent commissions.

Meanwhile, the Democratic party cannot find themselves bringing a knife to a gun fight.

"Redistricting bill

Early Wednesday, Schumer also tried to begin debate on another bill, S.2670, the Redistricting Reform Act of 2021, but was again blocked by Cruz. That bill aims to establish independent commissions to handle each state’s redistricting.

“So, the American people should understand: Republicans just blocked the Senate from even debating legislation to end partisan gerrymandering and make our Congress more representative of the people,” Schumer said."
