California-Mexico border, once overwhelmed, now nearly empty
Trump's immigration crackdown has slowed migrant crossings to a near halt. Humanitarian aid groups, with few people to serve, are closing down operations at the border.

- With so few migrants coming into the U.S., shelters that once served migrants have closed.
- The Border Patrol has been bolstered by 750 U.S. military troops dispatched to the San Diego area.
- In recent months, six miles of the border wall have been outfitted with concertina wire.
SAN YSIDRO, California — When the humanitarian aid workers decided to dismantle their elaborate tented setup — erected right up against the border wall — they hadn’t seen migrants for a month.
A year earlier, when historic numbers of migrants were arriving at the border, the American Friends Service Committee, a national Quaker-founded human rights organization, came to their aid. Eventually the group received enough donations to erect three canopies, where it stored food, clothing and medical supplies.
But migrant crossings have slowed to a near halt, bringing a striking change to the landscape along the southernmost stretch of California.
Shelters that once received migrants have closed, makeshift camps where migrants waited for processing are barren, and nonprofits have begun shifting their services to established immigrants in the U.S. who are facing deportation, or migrants stuck in southern Mexico.
Pretty strong opening for the changes that have happened. These were changes of course that Democrats and I'm sure many self-proclaimed tongue clicking "experts" on here said were impossible.
Days often passed before agents returned to the area, known as Whiskey 8. In the meantime, Jasso and her colleagues doled out hot instant soup, fresh fruit and backpacks through the slots in the fence.
The last time Jasso saw any migrants there was Feb. 15 — a 20-person group made up mostly of men from India and China.
Remember back when we were being gaslight and being told that the only people coming over the border were people from Mexico and of course they were just coming to do the jobs Americans won't do like picking cabbage. Then the REAL citizen media began hammering home points like the no job gains had been made by the Americans in a few years and that all the new jobs had been going to illegal immigrants. These were jobs like construction, services and hospitality, and far more. We were also told there were no national security concerns and that claiming somehow that immigrants were coming from all the way past the Pacific Ocean to enter the United States illegal was just a big ball of Trump hates all non-white people and is a racist.
Like every other bit of Democrat gaslighting, those were all lies.
This is a Trump success and the people who were losing jobs to these folks, you know, people who vote, well they are starting to get those jobs and that upward mobility back. I'm sure little changes in say REVISIONS to employment data (because just like immigration solutions most of that data was a lie) and upticks in rates as people who had previous given up looking for work now return to seeking work, will happen but the concern trolling and gaslighting won't matter there.
With this level of success, we might need a third Trump term.
