California gas prices are insane. The Democrats running the state don’t care. I wonder how much the deluded libs in CA will take?

The delusion appears to be on the far right in thinking a US President can set the price of the global oil market.

A Republican sponsored bill would have suspended the California gas tax for a year. Gas prices here are almost $6 a gallon, 51 cents of which is state tax. . The gas tax was the result of a scam bill from Democrats that raised gas taxes to " Improve road conditions". Which was complete BS. These imbeciles hate cars, even though the state runs on them.
In reality, it takes wheelbarrow full of our money to feed, cloth, and educate illegal aliens and drug addicted bums. That's the actual reason. These scumball Democrats hate cars, and want to force everyone into EV's, which sadly, due to enviro-wackos, the state electrical grid can't power.
And they have $65 billion dollar state surplus....Thanks Joe, print more!
Be advised....this bloody insanity is the way of the country if you don't wake up and smell the coffee. Grossly incompetent? Oh, ya.

It's about $8 a gallon here, and they're cheering at release of news that as gasoline prices rise, car use declines at a 150% greater rate. Bus & train traffic rise at an equal rate

I support an urban surtax doubling prices for single occupancy vehicles, delivery vehicles etc. get rebates. We have the cleanest air of any city our size & I want it to stay that way.

Not too far off from the truth there Grandpappy. Much has already been posted on this in these forums.

Just in the past week, the administration has only doubled down to:
  • propose new climate standards to regulate conventional trucks out of existence.
  • decline to appeal a federal court decision vacating the only lease sale held on federal lands or waters (despite clear statutory direction from Congress to regularly hold sales).
  • propose any day now what some are calling “the biggest rule … the [Securities and Exchange Commission] has done in quite some time”; namely, mandating companies disclose greenhouse emissions from their entire supply chain.

Russian Oil Import Ban Just a Distraction From Biden’s Anti-Energy Policies

Joe Biden Doesn’t Want Your Gas To Be $4 A Gallon. He Wants It To Cost Even More
You paying more (and more) at the pump just means Biden gets one step closer to his anti-oil agenda. Don’t think he isn’t happy about it.

Good. The more gas costs, the more we may fund public transportation and seek other forms of energy. We could use the higher gas taxes to fund those as well. Oil has been subsidized for decades.

Grandpappy loves conspiracies!! (y)😀😜

The cheapest near me in the UK is the equivalent of $7.90 a gallon. Quit complaining.

California gas prices are not reflective of the nations' gas prices. Certainly are not in my community.

Many many many things are more expensive in California ....... like New York City, Dallas, Texas etc etc etc

From the mega Billion surplus.

They aren't using it for the roads.

Newsom's Executive Order N-19-19 redirects gas tax money to fund railroad projects.
What kind of railroad projects? Be specific .......

Here's a little math no one is doing.
The Biden scriptwriters are telling us gasoline prices are so high because of Putin. But wait, Russia only supplies 4% of our oil, but prices have gone up by 90% since Biden took office. So we seem to have a little mismatch there.
But it is even worse than that, because the prices went up by 90% before we cut off delivery of Russia's oil. We haven't yet officially cut of Russian oil yet, so we might be able to blame the next 4% rise on that after we do. We can't blame the 90% rise in the past on that.
So I guess these people telling you this, including Biden, Psaki, and all the other paid pimps and creeps on TV and online must think you are an idiot, one who can't even follow first-grade math or logic. They think you can't tell past from present, and think you may believe 4=90. That's what they really think of you. They are just spitting in your face. How long are you going to keep taking it?

You don't understand the oil market.

So what should the president do to fix it? I mean, during the Bush years we were told over and over again that the president has no control over gas prices. And now suddenly it's Joe's fault. So now's your chance, Pappy. Instead of just bitching on the internet tell all of us sub-humans what you'd do to lower gas prices.

Do you like to eat?

New York (CNN) Global food prices rose for the 12th month in a row in May, up nearly 40% year over year, according to the United Nations' food price index. Last month was also the sharpest monthly rise in average food prices in over a decade, spiking 4.8% from April to May.

Global inflation is raising prices on virtually everything, from food to steel to lumber and energy. In countries that belong to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, prices surged in April to the highest rate since 2008.

Looks like it could get to be a pretty serious problem.

Is this the Green New Deal zealots idea of utopia? Sure looks more like dystopian to me.

I'm glad every day I do not live in California ....... thank you

As is the answer to all lost revenue, they should cut costs.
Which always translates into taking money out of programs designed for the poorest people in society. And cutting/locking wages of government employees.
