California bill would ban ‘boys’ and ‘girls’ departments in stores

Removing signs may not comply with "undivided sales area". Wouldn't separate aisles be divided? Would a cart path through the middle of racks be "divided"? If blue shorts are on one side and pink shorts on the other, are they divided?

It's these stupid legal questions that have to now be answered by these stores that add cost and complexity. A single law isn't the problem, but as they pile up they grow more burdensome.

I've got no problem scrapping gender norms, but this virtue signaling laws, that stores were already complying with (per the op) is just silly.
uh yeah, you're overthinking this. Just put shorts on shelves.

Until Karen sues. Literally this is what the bill would accomplish.

I can see a suit like that bring thrown out in short order.
I don't know, isn't that what this law was designed to stop? It's literally the example the lawmaker cited.

it's one thing for a moron to propose a bill, maybe even have a few cosponsors. If it passes then we know California is sick. The governor is of course sick enough to sign it.

This says it all here folks. You can no longer be expected to raise your kids how YOU want.

OK, I give up. What does this have to do with the OP or following posts?

What a lawmaker wants and what actually happens in courts are two different things.

In poorly thought out bills, this is likely very true.

they keep lying about that. it must be all over Rush (before), Sean, Fox, and the other two new crazy Republican stations.

Lying, or ignorant. Ignorant is being dumb. You don't know. But, given the facts, you can learn and become knowledgeable thereof. If you refuse to recognize fact, that makes you not dumb, but stupid. Clinging to ignorance. Another characteristic of the conservative RW majority dominant in the Rep party.

So how would this work exactly? Is some store clerk going to force the hypothetical mother in this situation to buy something?
Yes, they will arm store employees with Bear Spray and stun guns to force her to buy androgynous clothing for her pretend children.

I think not. The minute the bathroom cesspool started it was on. No more pink or blue stocking caps for new babies too.

Why can't girls play with toy cars or boys with dolls?

Surely this just increases the clothing and toy options parents and children have? Isn't that a good thing?

Enough is enough people. California is sickening.

Big stores in California would have to get rid of separate “boys” and “girls” departments for toys and clothes under a new bill.

The proposal would require stores with 500 or more employees to maintain “undivided areas of its sales floor” for childcare items, kids clothes and toys, “regardless of whether an item has traditionally been marketed for either girls or for boys,” according to the legislation.

So even if this came to pass. How would this negatively affect you, or anyone else? Would you suddenly be confused about what cloths you would buy your children? Would you accidentally buy your son a dress because you could not tell the difference anymore? Sounds like a you problem more than anything.

Prior to the 20th century, pink was for boys and blue was for girls. It was also normal for young boys to wear dresses pretty much all the time until they reached a certain age - the christening gown that babies wear to get christened is a relic of that.

🤣

This discussion is very much like the Muslim/Terrorist conversations.

Muslim Terrorist: "Im killing in the name of Allah!"
Leftist: No...that's silly...he isnt really killing in the name of Allah."
Conservative: Yes...he is killing in the name of Allah. That's literally what he said."
Leftists: No...but...that's silly...what he REALLY meant is that he is expressing a grievance of the oppressive nature of western values."
Muslim Terrorist: "No, you daft bitch...I'm literally killing in the glorious name of Allah."
Leftist: "Hush dear...Don't worry...I've got this. Now...when he says he is literally killing in the name of Allah that doesnt mean he is literally killing in the name of Allah even though that isnt what he just said."

Leftists are literally legislating the promotion of gender confusion because so many of their ranks are so completely ****ed up and gender confused...shocking after their history...I know...and even though their announced intent is to criminalize gender norms, leftists defend their actions as really just being a parent choice situation, ignoring the fact that the only reason this is a discussion point is that idiot leftist politicians are literally passing laws to criminalize gender norms.
You would be confused if the children clothing sections did not say girls or boys?

Maybe he thinks if girls wear a dinosaur t-shirt or play with toy cars they might grow up to be a lesbian?

Perhaps if more boys played with dolls and toy pushchairs, they'll grow up to be better dads. No one bats an eyelid when fathers push their children in real pushchairs, it's normal, so why wouldn't young boys not want to copy their fathers doing this?

I'm still shocked that somehow "no" isn't every single kid's first word.

It is every two year old's first word and it's perfectly age appropriate. We all live through it.

Parents manage harder things than stupid changes made by stores. I would prefer boys and girls sections. It would make shopping easier for me. But I don't think a change would have any effect on children. It would make it harder on the parents and grandparents out to buy clothes and gifts. We've lived through harder things.

Any time a leftist uses the word 'confused' in a gender related topic, al I can do is laugh.

You 'people' have killed so many people with your 'inclusion' and 'tolerance'. Its ****ing tragic. And we havent even really seen the tip of the iceberg yet.

Killed? How so?
I can think of many examples of people killing themselves because of Conservative bigotry.

The most unkind thing you can do to a person struggling with their own insecurity is to lie to them and tell them they are something they arent, or that they can be something they arent if they really really really really want to.

Its not conservatives that are killing them. FFS, idiot leftists will hear a 3 year old boy pretend they are a girl and will in the moment make the decision for them, to raise them as girls, forever mind****ing their own children in the name of 'wokeness'. Thirty years ago...40 year ago...kids were still kids, but sdults were adults and they didnt **** their kids up to show their friends how tolerant they can be. Good lord dood, do you know how many children run around pretending to be Liono from the Thurndercats or some other cartoon character or an animal? Guess what...they grow out of it.Thats what children do. Unless they have piece of shit parents that put them in dresses and start calling them a girls name.

Even transgendered people that live in the most SUPPORTIVE of communities attempt and often complete suicide.

You are killing people. You are causing people to maim themselves. Its ****ing sick. And YOU did that.

You did not read the article did you.

You think surprising trans and gay children is the way to keep them from attempting to kill themselves? Maybe conversion therapy is a good thing in your mind as well?
do you think the whole gay is a sin thought process helps over trying to accept them for what they are?

Neither of my kid's first words were "No". It wasn't even top ten for the first one. Second one isn't two yet, so it's possible that it would make top ten for them.
