JD Vance Hits Out at ‘Pearl Clutching’ Over Racist GOP Group Chat​

Vance’s “group chat” comments appeared to be referring to the leaked Telegram chat among Young Republicans, in which they use racist slurs and make light of the Holocaust with casual references to “going to the gas chamber.” One Republican also joked about loving Hitler.

That's the kind of thing they discuss in private...and then we have their public face.

“We are appalled by the vile and inexcusable language revealed in the Politico article published today. Such behavior is disgraceful, unbecoming of any Republican, and stands in direct opposition to the values our movement represents,” the statement reads.

“Those involved must immediately resign from all positions within their state and local Young Republican organizations. We must hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, respect, and professionalism.”

Uh huh.

What was discussed on those Group Chats just echoes what many Righties and MAGA types feel. NO, I wouldn't say all, maybe not even most. But a hell of a lot of them. They come roaring on here and on to other debate forums screaming "stop calling us racist" while constantly dropping tropes. They also try to reverse accusations of racism but claiming we are race baiting them.

I grew up with racist parents. I recognize the patterns, the words, the attitudes. They too insisted they were NOT racist. It's NOT rocket science folks. Every racist exposes themselves with the usual canards:

But I have a black friend
Criticizing black behavior isn't racist
Attacking DEI is just because it is so unfair
Thugs is just a word, big deal
George Floyd didn't die from a knee to the neck

I could go on all day but those of us with an ounce of common sense recognize racism. And bigotry. It's in the scowls I see (even up here in Canada) when some middle age white man is being served by an Indian (from India) immigrant. It's the wise cracks I hear when someone orders a iced latte or some such "hippie" drink. It's in the distance they keep when they see a transgender or gay person. It's in the protests against schools flying pride flags during pride month.

THEY think they are being coy, trying to convince us that it is we who are racist (against whites apparently even though most of us liberals are also white, duh), or that their remarks are not racist but just the way it is.

Then Group Chats are exposed. Those of us who are appalled will speak out against such chats. Those who won't participate in this thread or similar threads prefer to find a thread about DEI or Antifa. Some might pop on here just to become defensive and petulant. AND some might even go so far as to go on page after page after page raging "I'm not racist, you are!" When once you made your point you have to make it over and over and over again??

And yes there are going to be Group Chats about whiny uptight white guys too. They are no more worthy than the Rightwing ones. But they also don't excuse the Rightwing ones. Look at them folks over there, what they are sayin' about us white guys. Look over there just doesn't excuse YOUR behavior or YOUR attitude.
