Even after the final report of Charles Duelfer to Congress saying that Iraq did not have a significant WMD program, 72% of Bush supporters continue to believe that Iraq had actual WMD (47%) or a major program for developing them (25%). Fifty-six percent assume that most experts believe Iraq had actual WMD and 57% also assume, incorrectly, that Duelfer concluded Iraq had at least a major WMD program. Kerry supporters hold opposite beliefs on all these points.
Similarly, 75% of Bush supporters continue to believe that Iraq was providing substantial support to al Qaeda, and 63% believe that clear evidence of this support has been found. Sixty percent of Bush supporters assume that this is also the conclusion of most experts, and 55% assume, incorrectly, that this was the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission. Here again, large majorities of Kerry supporters have exactly opposite perceptions.
Bush supporters also have numerous misperceptions about Bush's international policy positions. Majorities incorrectly assume that Bush supports multilateral approaches to various international issues--the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (69%), the treaty banning land mines (72%)--and for addressing the problem of global warming: 51% incorrectly assume he favors US participation in the Kyoto treaty. After he denounced the International Criminal Court in the debates, the perception that he favored it dropped from 66%, but still 53% continue to believe that he favors it. An overwhelming 74% incorrectly assumes that he favors including labor and environmental standards in trade agreements. In all these cases, majorities of Bush supporters favor the positions they impute to Bush. Kerry supporters are much more accurate in their perceptions of his positions on these issues.

Personally, I could give a damn what other countries think of us.
What do you think?
Toby said:I don't know if I would go so far as to say that I "don't give a damn what other countries think of us" but I do agree that we shouldn't be making our decisions based on making friends with other countries.
I have just about had enough of this BS. You on the left are so all knowing, so rightous, so arrogant, you think your sh*t doesn't stink. Every damn thread one of you make some reference to how stupid Republicans are and link it to Fox. I suggest you show some level of respect for other people who disagree with what you think. Every time I hear this in the future, I am going to bash you because you watch the BBC, or CNN. How would you like that? No wonder we don't have more Republicans on here. Who wants to listen to that crap every day. :damnWhy Bush Supporters Still believe? What do the majority Bush supporters who never look up a news website or newspaper get their political info from - Fox News.

Try the Clinton admin. and the UN. in the 1990's. How about Sandy Berger who stole and destroyed documents related to terrorism and the Clinton admin. What was he trying to hide? People on the right have plenty of evidence and questions that have nothing to do with Fox. The left is the master of conspiracy theories, except for this. According to the left, Saddam was pure as the driven snow, except for those few thousand people he tortured and killed. They still think he should be in power. Where do they get those crazy ideas from? You people on the left are just too ignorant to think for yourselves. These were not stupid people. Where did these crazy ideas come from?

That may be the perception but that is emphatically wrong. They will support Bush indefintily because of the intense rivalry between the two sides, that even if the truth stares them in the face they continue support because they don't want the other guys in power - that's why a two party system is dangerous.

I am a Bush supporter, but many of the crap he has signed still gets me flaming mad.
I think he should be MORE conservative instead of catering to the left.
I truely enjoy FOX News, but at the same time realize that there is NO such thing as unbiased journalism.
Perhaps you don't recall saying this Gar? Tha majority of "Republicans" never read or see any news outside of Fox. You don't see that as insulting? Let me assure you it is. Pacridge, Your hatred of Fox is very evident, no one needs to read about it in every other thread. I am weary of your Fox lies, Rush lies and Hannity lies, everybody on the right lies, all the time. That is just ridiculas claims to make. These types of comments do not add anything to a legitimate debate. What do the majority Bush supporters who never look up a news website or newspaper get their political info from - Fox News.

SourceAfter its acceptance of Security Council resolution 687 (1991) in April 1991, the Government of Iraq initiated a policy of systematic concealment, denial and masking of the most important aspects of its proscribed weapons and related capabilities. In the face of this challenge, the UN Special Commission had to field innovative and creative inspections, planned, organized and executed in a manner capable of defeating Iraqi countermeasures. The inspection activities and the integrated analytical work, supported by advanced techniques and applied science, have since 1991 led to the uncovering of the full dimensions of Iraq's complex programs for weapons of mass destruction. During 1996 and 1997 the inspections led to the unmasking of: a complete biological weapons development and production program; highly sophisticated and advanced work on the extremely lethal chemical warfare nerve agent VX; and the multifaceted domestic development and production of Scud-type missile engines under Iraq's project 1728. Large quantities of chemical weapons and equipment, as well as long-range missiles and related precision machines, have been destroyed under the Commission's supervision in the implementation of resolution 687 (1991). As late as 1996, after the detection of the secret biological weapons programme, the sprawling research, development and production facility for biological weapons at Al Hakam was demolished.[S/1997/301]
SourceSaddam wanted to recreate Iraq’s WMD capability—which was essentially destroyed in 1991—after sanctions were removed and Iraq’s economy stabilized, but probably with a different mix of capabilities to that which previously existed. Saddam aspired to develop a nuclear capability—in an incremental fashion, irrespective of international pressure and the resulting economic risks—but he intended to focus on ballistic missile and tactical chemical warfare (CW) capabilities.
I believe I said Air America was completely biased. And I agree with you- Randi Rhodes, whom I’ve been listening to the last few days is very offensive.Squawker said:Let's compare Hosts who are vile and hateful, shall we Pac? This is how Randi Rhodes on Air America treats her Republican callers.
She does it all the time. There is another one with Larz Larson, but you will enjoy this one. Go almost to the bottom of the page to the date, Wed. July 21 2004. Jill in New Jersey -- HEZBOLLAH. The left wing listeners think this is just hysterical. I have never heard a right wing talk show host treat anyone like this.

Where on Earth do you come up with this drivel? Please show me Democratic politicians who support Saddam? You're spreading lies, and that's what FNC does!
