that's rich......our health care system "tarnished"? so it's all nice and shiny now, is it?While I didn't attend, it was based on a concern of being stripped of constitutional rights, having our effective health care system tarnished with government intervention, and in all honesty a tyrannical administration. Statements 1 and 3 (especially 1) should be concerns of any american, while 2 is a bigot statement held by a few ignorant radicals.
Your Liberal Elitism astounds me... (I guess you are too good to be concerned about terrorist attacks on america)
why would you drag alien abductees into this? they're people too, you know. And this is precisely why the current conservative anti-government movement (such as it is) is doomed to fail. Too many fringe dwellers with too many issues and no reasonable or defining goal, other than to "get the government out of my life."
Of course, getting any workable suggestions or legitimate discussion out of all these birthers, deathers, tenthers, tea-baggers, homo-haters, pro-lifers, religious zealots, and alien abductees is like trying to have a chat with a dining room table. :rofl
Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
The brainlessness of these rabid right-wingers has reached epic levels.
"Bury Obamacare with Kennedy"??? - George's Bottom Line
He didn't "hijack your thread," he illustrated, rather creatively, the shallowness, and contrived nature of your theatrical outrage. You see? What do those signs have to do with me?
Other than its your way of hijacking my thread with pointless nonsense.
Furthermore, it is breaking news and should be put back in the breaking news forum asap.
He didn't "hijack your thread," he illustrated, rather creatively, the shallowness, and contrived nature of your theatrical outrage. You see?
I'd say let the outrage be equal lets see the signs calling for the burying of republican legislation with Reagan or Nixon.. Chop Chop
So what if they did?
Oh silly me I thought we were talking equivalence here. I think the equivalent would be what I just mentioned
Yes. And I asked, "so what if they did [make signs that said that]?"
I was wondering if there were any signs like that. Posting signs of people painting Bush as hitler only is an equivalence of people making signs on Obama. But I haven't seen any like the Kennedy sign from the left.
Oh. So your point is even dumber than I thought. You're demanding word-for-word equivalence, and if it can't be shown that lefties carried signs that said "bury X with Reagan," and if no one can show anything like that, then hey, this really MUST be unprecedented and some new level of nastiness.
I get it. It's preposterous, but I get it.
Even so:
Women's eNews - Time to Bury Reagan's Legacy for Women
We're talking equivalence here. Nothing dumb about asking for equivalence.
Even so a blog posting from a site i've never heard of awesome. Not exactly an equivalence. We were talking about signs at a rally and you divert it off into right field. That wasn't the claim I was making I was looking for some equivalence I didn't make a point of "unprecendented new level of nastiness". The article was about burying Reagan's legacy not burying something with Reagan. The article was about his legacy not reagan himself. So again a false equivalence.
Yeah, and the "offending" sign in question was about the health care bill, not Kennedy himself. Or Obama himself.
And it IS dumb if you need something to be word-for-word identical in order to establish some kind of precedent of incivility. If you now say that's not what you meant, then what -- exactly -- did you mean?
Its not like the sign said Kill Obama and the healthcare bill and bury them together
I was wondering if there were any signs like that. Posting signs of people painting Bush as hitler only is an equivalence of people making signs on Obama. But I haven't seen any like the Kennedy sign from the left.
No the offending sign was about burrying the health care bill with Kennedy.
We're talking about equivalence here. I'm not trying to establish a precendent of incivility nor have I mentioned that I just was asking if there was an actual equivalence.
Ah yes... Ted Kennedy, what a fine upstanding human he was...
Yeah. I said that.
And if there wasn't, then what? Make the point.
Given the incredible and unprecedented amount of hate and vitriol that was spewed at Bush by the Left 01-08 I am amazed at our Leftists. Frankly Obama has yet to be demonized to the degree Bush was.
Now that the shoe is on the other foot, it isn't comfy??
01-08? I seem to remember there being a time when after 9/11 the whole country was behind him. Few questioned him up until after the problems happened with the Iraq war. Even before 9/11 there wasn't complete and total hatred and his approval numbers were in the 40s. But lets talk unprecendented for a second. I seem to remember the right making up all sorts of lies about Clinton saying he killed 50 people passing around lists, making up stuff, saying Hillary Clinton was a lesbian, chelsea clinton was a dog, etc, etc.
Obama had hatred thrown at him before he was even elected and it hasn't stopped. Not exactly an equivalence.
Which has absolutely nothing to do with the sign. Try to stay on topic
Someone jumped on the OP saying somehow the response was related in equivalence to the original subject which it wasn't. So I was curious if there was a real equivalence.
I'd say let the outrage be equal lets see the signs calling for the burying of republican legislation with Reagan or Nixon.. Chop Chop
