According to a CBC investigation Buffy Sainte-Marie is not indigenous.

"Buffy Sainte-Marie was born to White parents, CBC alleges

CBC News’ October 27 investigation alleges that Sainte-Marie was not born on the Piapot First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada, and adopted by a White family as she has claimed for most of her career. Rather, the CBC suggests that she was born to White parents in the small town of Stoneham, Massachusetts."

Yeah. That's been bugging me for a long time. Slow news day?

Since when does the left attack it's own? I guess they don't have much to do with real news.

Dude, the quality of your deflections has fallen off a cliff. There was a time when yours were exemplar of how to do a deflection properly. Now what we get is a mere husk of your former, glorious deflection skills. Like Rudy, your deflections are now sad.

CBC News tracked down her birth certificate, stating that Sainte-Marie was born Beverly Jean Santamaria at a hospital in Stoneham, Mass., on Feb. 20, 1941, to Albert and Winifred Santamaria, who were of Italian and English ancestry.

She is half Italian, which gave her exotic looks. Southern Italians and Sicilians have a lot of Levantine/Middle Eastern ancestry.

Wouldn't it have occurred to her that a simple Ancestry.Com DNA test being the easiest way to put this nonsense to bed?

Of course that would rely upon her actually knowing and believing her ancestry to be factually aboriginal to some extent.

Her success was partly a result of the "Indigenous success story" so why would she muck that narrative up.

This is not the first time that this has happened in Canada.

And the US.

She could sing and write music and she was well accepted by her artist peers of that era. Why muck up that success with the 'truth'?

She has, for many years, refused to take a DNA test. It would seem that she has stolen income, opportunities, and awards from actual Indigenous artists.

I wouldn't go that far. Her success didn't hold back other talented Indigenous artists. It's not like there's a limit to how many can succeed and she bumped someone else out.

The correct reaction for any Canadian is "Who cares?".

Now, let's get down to the really SERIOUS issue of how RACIST and ANTI-SEMITIC "Christmas" is.

Stupid and irrelevant response.

Obviously you aren't keeping up with the activities of the Canadian Human Rights Commission which has just made exactly that claim.
Obviously you aren't keeping up with the thread subject. Amazing considering the OP is only 15 posts back.

I guess that you didn't notice that the post that I responded to was the first one in the list.

However, after reading all of the intervening posts, I'll modify that to
