Anyone ever watch British sitcoms (or as i like to call them "Britcoms"). Just to name a few:

Fawtly Towers
Blackadder
Mr. Bean
Are You Being Served?
Keeping Up Appearances
Red Dwarf

Are You Being Served? and Mr. Bean are good. They are ones i can watch over and over. I can't stand Keeping Up Appearances...the Bucket Woman is very annoying. Watching that drains my will to live.

It's pretty sad that reruns of old British stuff are better then current American ****.

Ever check out "The I.T. Crowd"? I've literally cried laughing at it.

I have nearly all the episodes of every one of those shows on CD, plus I watch PBS on a daily basis, so I very much agree with your comment on American TV selections these days.

Father Ted
Black's Books
The IT Crowd
Little Britain
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Perrin
Chef!
The League of Gentlemen

Fawlty Towers was the best. Oh how I miss it.

One Foot in the Grave. Nothing goes right for Victor Meldrew and his longsuffering wife as they face the trials of retirement.

Blackadder. Hugh (House) Laurie as Prince George, Rowan (Mr Bean) Atkinson as his servant Blackadder, and Robbie (Hagrid) Coltrane as Dr Johnson, the Dictionary man.

And the last series

Working in IT I laughed out loud in the first episode when the phone was answered "Have You Tried Turning It Off And On Again? "

I came within a hairs width of laughing to death at

I can remember many real laugh out louds watching Fawlty Towers. Best ever. Can you watch them anywhere on the Internet? I wonder if they’re on Amazon Prime... I’ll have to check. Great slapstick. My favorite.

Not a comedy per se but I'm a huge fan of the first 2 seasons of An Idiot Abroad

I'm with the others that think Fawlty Towers was the best comedy on television!

I'm also good with Absolutely Fabulous, when I'm in the right mood.

Given the Brit's recent rebuff of Trump, maybe we should direct him to this thread to see his take on British comedy? :2razz:

Im not sure they would classify as sitcoms but I loved reruns of Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Benny Hill show when I was a kid.

Vicious (Derek Jacobi and IanMckellan).

But yeah, definitely Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, Blackadder some of the best. I don't know if people realize, but they did a 2016 Red Dwarf season, a 2017 season, and it looks like they're definitely doing 2018.

You can get a non-remastered 2001 version for 9 bucks... or under 3, used, (not counting shipping of course)

Netflix also has it, I think, but only on their DVD service. They dropped all BBC from streaming a year or three ago.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Allo, Allo yet. That and Chef were some of my favorites.

Bonus, It looks like Allo Allo is on Neflix.

Ordered. TYVM!!

Oh crap! You may want to cancel the order if you did the 2001 version (the middle of the three) and then order the third one that just says "DVD" (or the more expensive remastered one). I just remembered I made the same mistake myself when I ordered it. If you click on the middle link of the three additions that first appear, the picture of the DVD changes --> that middle one is actually just four of the episodes from Season 2.

I didn't notice since I assumed each of the options was for the full series. No idea why they put something different inbetween the first and third.

If you click on the third one that just says "DVD", that is the complete collection. (So too is the first, more expensive option). Looks like it's more like 13ish bucks for the one that just says "DVD".

Fawlty Towers was great.

I loved Black Adder too, use to stay up and you had to know when shows were on and which channel back in the day. It was a mysterious show, Rowan Atkinson was so great in that, and Baldric...the way Rowan would spit that name out. It changed timelines, crazy stuff! Dr. House in his early years...the dirty/fop prince, loved it.

The original Dr. Who almost qualifies as a sticom sometimes too :)

I actually ordered the first. Thank you for the warning, though. It was a bit confusing. :)
