British diplomat arrested after 'f***ing Jews' rant

He is looking at up to 7 years in prison for inciting religious hatred.

Makes me proud to be in America, where even rascist bigots like him can still talk crap without going to the slammer. You know, it is always this way. If a government (Like the British government, in this case) goes after people for being assholes, that is the start down a slippery slope. Soon, that government could very well come after you.

Sure, the guy is a complete jerk, which is why he should have moved to America, where even jerks still have freedom of speech. If you are upset at what you perceive to be limitations on free speech here, try moving to England where free speech just might land you in jail.

Apparently, this rant was also conducted in a gym. The rant was disturbing others who were using the facilities. He continued even when asked to stop. That type of disruption would warrent an escort from the premises, and if he resisted, it would then result in arrest - even in the US.

How much of this happened, we don't know. The site you referenced seems to be short on details on many articles posted from it.
 
It may have happened in gym and if so he should have been removed if the management wanted that but we have authoritarian hate speech laws in Britain which he may be charged with breaking and they need to be removed as gross breaches on freedom of speech.

I don`t know how free we really are in the US to speak, freely, openly and, exceedingly ugly on any topic. Certain groups are allowed to, but If you even think the wrong thing in some places the thought police will get you. I like the spirit of total freedom but it ain`t real. Maybe its better here, than there, but it still isn`t complete. Case in point..., point a picture of a perhaps loaded,or even unloaded, gun at someone, you better have deep pockets because you`ll need an attorney to get your butt off the no-fly list. I want more freedom than that. Are pictures of loaded guns illegal in Great Britain ? :roll:

No one should be arrested for talking **** about anyone or any group. If someone cracks jokes about rednecks should that person be arrest for inciting "redneck hatred"? If some atheist is running around making comparisons of Harry Potter books to the bible or saying God does not exist or that Evolution is real and "creation is a fantasy" should that atheist be arrest for "inciting religious" hatred? If you do not like what someone says about you,should you be allowed to have that person arrested for inciting hatred against you?
