Marco Rubio, Marsha Blackburn and some other republicans in the senate have filed legislation to bring pharmaceutical manufacturing back from China. Do democrats agree with that on this forum or are you all more pro China than more Pro America? Don't you all want to make our medicines against here in the U.S.? I don't see no democrat senators or house democrats talking about this, only republicans. So you all don't want our medicine manufacturing back here either? This should be bi-partisan. Partisan and unamerican sh*ts.

Of course democrat corporate donors will not allow jobs to be brought back here. It seems like republicans now are what dems used to be and that's pro American worker.

HELL YES, bring back everything strategic and then some. and oppose china , becasue we are in another cold war of their making.

Your posts have all the credibility of an unscripted trump press conference. They read like a drunk screaming nonsense because he's been cut off at a bar.

Most of our imported drugs come from Ireland, but sure, bring it all home.

Really? Because I don't see "progressives" co-sponsoring legislation to bring these jobs back, just republicans. I'm tired of being dependent on China for almost everything. I want us to have a strong manufacturing sector again and you all say "well, too bad it's not going to happen again, get over it" Do you know how UNAMERICAN that sounds?

It would be nice to see the wording of this legislation, hard to trust anything these days no matter who is pushing for it or why.

Of course we should encourage the movement of pharmaceutical manufacturing out of China at the earliest possible opportunity. We should do everything we can to move our manufacturing out of Fascist China and cease giving the country (and by extension its evil, lying fascist government) our business and look for better more law-governed trading partners. But it would be better to address those Democrats and Democratic voters here on this forum with barest modicum of respect and charity rather than asking them an insulting rhetorical question.

Without a link, and only the OP's energetic partisan assertions, it's hard to take the thread seriously.

You want to force these companies against their will.

Why not do that for everything?

You ok with paying twice as much??

I didn't know that, probably for tax reasons.

I have always assumed that is why since most companies offshore their IP rights there. We also get a lot from Germany and Switzerland so it ain't for the cheap labor.

Do they really deserve our respect after the way they have treated us for the past three years? I'm glad republicans are finally showing a backbone for once. Democrats have won on almost everything and I'm tired of it.

Obama certainly didn't offer direct payments to Americans when the economy crashed in 2008. Democrats will say "that's a feel good measure that is only temporary" They are morons man.

Just to clarify, Ireland doesn't produce most of the drugs we import, they are just our leading producer among imported drugs in dollar value. I think the way I replied was poorly written in that regard. It gets a bit muddled though. India probably produces more units but they do the cheap generics which are not as valuable as those coming out of Ireland, Germany and Switzerland and therefore have a smaller share of overall sales.

You are taking a general sense of grievance and using it to unfairly attack people here. If you feel you are being denigrated by those on the left who are unfairly maligning you for your political beliefs, I can only admonish you to rise above it.

You may like them, but I don't and that's my right. They have done nothing for the American people for the past 3 years.

Who specifically are you talking about? Democrats in Congress? Or Democratic voters here on this forum?

Democrats in congress, but dems on this forum vote for them so they are equally responsible.

You are correct. There is a fair amount of drugs made in Ireland. However it was corporate headquarters moving that really caused a stir before corporate rate cuts here.
