BREAKING: Sebelius said to resign as health secretary..
DRUDGE REPORT 2014®
Breaking headline. Let's see if it pans out.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/11/us/politics/sebelius-resigning-as-health-secretary.htmlWASHINGTON — Kathleen Sebelius, the health and human services secretary, is resigning, ending a stormy five-year tenure marred by the disastrous rollout of President Obama’s signature legislative achievement, the Affordable Care Act.
Mr. Obama accepted Ms. Sebelius’s resignation this week, and on Friday morning he will nominate Sylvia Mathews Burwell, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, to replace her, officials said.
The departure comes as the Obama administration tries to move beyond its early stumbles in carrying out the law, persuade a still-skeptical public of its lasting benefits, and help Democratic incumbents, who face blistering attack ads after supporting the legislation, survive the midterm elections this fall.
Officials said Ms. Sebelius, 65, made the decision to resign and was not forced out. But the frustration at the White House over her performance had become increasingly clear, as administration aides worried that the crippling problems at HealthCare.gov, the website set up to enroll Americans in insurance exchanges, would result in lasting damage to the president’s legacy.

Yeah there it is from his own aides.....its not so much that matters its suppose to be about of and for the people. Just what matters to this guys legacy.
Isn't that what aides are supposed to do? And every President cares about his legacy. The way I figure it is she hit the 7 million mark and was ready to be out of the frying pan.
Yeah Aides are suppose to serve.....just like a president. The way I figure it.....she knows he has to take the hit. That people are calling for her head. That if he don't fire her, and the longer it goes and the more problems that come along. It sinks him faster with his failing program. That he won't be able to keep on moving forward and turn it around if he doesn't take responsibility and fire her. So the next best thing so as to not continue to make him look bad.....is to tender her resignation and fall on the sword for him.
If we're taking the aides point of view. This is good news.....do you think they have figured out the part about the damage to his legacy already?

CNNAccording to senior Obama administration officials, Sebelius told the president in early March that she thought the enrollment period would end well and, after that, she would step down. Even granted the initial uproar over the website, her decision to resign was on her own accord, the officials said.
Burwell's nomination is set to be announced at 11 a.m. Friday, according to a White House official.
Isn't it kind of her fault? You can blame Obama for appointing her, but not for the website issues. That's why he hired her, to handle the nuts and bolts of the thing. So she isn't falling on the sword for him, she is resigning because she did a poor job.

Opinion: At least someone in this current administration feels it's necessary to be accountable, which is a rare and good thing, however the damage was done. I'm just a little surprised Obama accepted the resignation.

I think many are saying "what took so darn long?".
Just another minion falling on the sword for the Pied Piper.
