A soldier has absolutely ZERO duty to this government - Their oath is "for the people" not "for the government."
the guy is an idiot. in a fit of anger he made a random data dump of thousands and thousands of pages of stuff that he didn't even know what most of it was. That's why I find it impossible to attribute any altruistic motives to his actions or consider him a whistleblower...much less a "hero" as some have claimed.
I can vouch for this. It's completely legit. I would know because I'm in on it
opcorn:
You obviously have no understanding of "law."
Manning broke "code" not "law" which is exceptionally ironic considering he upheld his oath...
I love honesty...
Manipulation is certainly your virtue.
I'm not the totalitarian here...

It really shows how tyrannical this government actually is...

..As I have stated before - the federal government IS the domestic enemy.
Dude, stop posting when you're high on crack OK?
Naw...... The fountain pen is mightier than the sword..
If you see the United States government as your enemy maybe you should think about moving to another country. I hear that Saudi Arabia is nice this time of year.
One great thing about the USA is that the entrance to the exit is always wide open.
Yes, but in your hands it's more like a wet noodle.
I don't view the United States as my enemy - Our government(s) are the enemy and they have been ever since they were attacking the Bill of Rights (hence civil liberties in general).
I'm not the problem, but our founding documents are and those who support our present government are...
You're the tyrants...
The "Red Line" is the ****ing Bill of Rights...
My marxist friends and I meet on weekends and provide blood sacrifices to our statue of Lenin
Every nefarious intent by two or more individuals is a conspiracy.
You're part of the conspiracy you just don't know it....
What do you think "progress" means?
It means slowly brainwash a population to hate our founding fathers and destroy our civil liberties...
"gun control" 2
"limitations on free speech" 1
"separation of church and state" 1
"warrantless spying" 4
"prop 8" 10
I can go on forever...
Of course when the totalitarians want the Bill of Rights to mean something they will use it - even to the point of contradicting the document - which is pretty much like eating ones own head...
No you just sit around talking **** with funny hats.... Then when a democrat rally or Union rally comes to town you work yourselves up into a tizzy and go out there in red and support "socialism."
Not that there is any problem in that other than the fact you're embracing the First Amendment, in which the outlined ideas don't exist in communist or socialist government....
Socialism is fun when you're in a small group - it's more difficult to manage when its an economic policy.... Of course that leads to culling and such - famine to boot...
You don't know that tho..
To you socialism is a ****ing hippie commune where everyone lives off acid, picks flowers and jams all day...
Yeah that **** is cool on the weekends but everyday isn't a Saturday..
Is the United States Government your enemy or isn't it?
The United States Government as a whole is the people of the United States.
Of the people by the people and controlled by the people.
You can not have the Government as your enemy and not have the American people as your enemy.
Anyhow, you seem like one scary dude... Like your about to pop like a shook up soda and hurt people.
I hope I am wrong.
An understanding of totalitarianism would better suit your posts.
I don't think you've read anything besides ayn rand novels
Of course a socialist replies with a single sentence as is snug and content with such.
Would you like to debate socialism? Marx? or any other historical socioeconomic philosophers?
Does "Das Kapital" work for you?
Whats your position here?
I'm pretty sure you're content with being vulgar and reductive w/r/t your issues with socialism/communism so I'm not going to bother because I don't feel like getting vertigo from the mental gymnastic that you'd play
Apparently you truly just don't get it.
Of course you don't see anything unfair about a military tribunal...
For some reason I think you would have a different understanding if Madoff was the defendant and Ponzi was the judge.....
I don't get it either. Manning was a volunteer in the US military. Manning violated both US and military laws, both of which he had sworn to uphold. Manning violated that oath. Manning got tried and convicted
However, your Madoff - Ponzi analogy certainly cleared up a lot for me.
He did "violate military laws."
However the the Bill of Rights still applies to those in the service - they do NOT waive their civil liberties...
Of course I'm "vulgar" because this is an issue that can construed emotions...
I know the communist/socialist goal is no emotions - look at Mao's China or present day North Korea (just a couple of examples)... No emotion other than fear and loyalty...
Obama is certainly in that realm..
