This is the same organization that won't allow gay members. Apparently that same ethical stance doesn't apply to child molesters. Sort of reminds of certain religions......
Boy Scouts failed to report child molesters - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

How do decisions like this get made? Sometimes, I just don't understand humans. Anybody want to defend these creeps?

You have to keep in mind that in the conservative's mind, any adult male who would molest a boy is a homosexual. They do not distinguish on the basis of whether or not such people have a sexual attraction to adults.

As far as hiding it, that would be incredibly despicable if it is true.

Whatever it is, they should be very ashamed. Pedophilia has nothing to do with homosexuality.

I was amazed when the Boy Scouts took their postion on gay members. A shocking case of discrimination. I had to assume they were moralists who were willing to pay the price for their prejudices.

However, I can't come up with anything as immoral as harboring pedophiles. The Catholic Church, Penn State and the Boy Scouts. Talk about birds of a feather.

In fairness, an organization cannot be completely condemned for the actions of a few.

For example, when it came to Chick-fil-A it made no sense to condemn private franchises for the words of the president of that company.

I recognize that the Boy Scouts are a private organization and I respect their right to set the requirements for their membership just as I would respect the right of a Gay Baseball League to set requirements to exclude heterosexual members.

The Catholic Church and Penn State cases are ongoing and I am saddened to hear how far and entrenched those conspiracies seemed to be, but even in those cases I cannot and will not condemn the entire organization for the actions of a few.

The article implies that there were HUNDREDS of events. Not one or two. So where did this policy come from?

This isn't an issue of discrimination. Molesting a child is a heinous felony. Mr. Sandusky will be in prison for the rest of his life, that's how serious this type of crime is. Concealing this crime is equally illegal and reprehensible.

I agree with you about Chick-Fil-A. The owner had the right to make his donations. Personal bigotry is not a crime. Molestation is.
