Boy, I'm glad we killed that wasteful infrastructure bill.

Constructed four generations ago, the massive rock and clay dam at El Capitan Reservoir is capable of storing over 36 billion gallons of water, enough to supply every resident in San Diego for most of a year.

Today, it’s three-quarters empty, intentionally kept low because of concerns it could fail under the strain of too much water.

During “a big earthquake, you never know what’s going to happen, if this is going to hold,” said Samuel Santos, a longtime resident who frequently fishes near the dam.

Seismic instability and a spillway in need of “significant repair” led El Capitan to be added to a growing list of dams rated in poor condition or worse that would likely cause deaths downstream if they failed.

An Associated Press analysis tallied more than 2,200 high-hazard dams in poor or unsatisfactory condition across the U.S.

Remember when America used to build things? But now we can't, because the right hates spending money unless it's giving it to billionaires to thank them for existing.

This was a good bill and there are a few much needed projects within a drive of where I live that are kicking off.

I'm also thankful to the small but substantial number of GOP senators who voted in support of it. They put good policy over politics, which is what we want from elected leaders.

Please don't exaggerate on why the right doesn't spend money. It's not that they don't like building, not at all that. It's that the spending bills that frequently come out of the house or sometimes the senate always contain overwhelming amounts of add ons that cost millions and billions of spending dollars that are wasteful. Those added bills do little to help with infrastructure issues. Why can't Congress just pass a bill that is totally physical infrastructure without the waste of added pet pork projects and social spending. The new democrat trend is called social infrastructure as they try to add social programs into a physical infrastructure bill. The only reason for that is they realize the very liberal social spending cannot pass on it's own.
Lets stick with things the nation will vote yes too and leave the waste out, and maybe in the long run we will come out much better.

The 1 million dollar infrastructure bill spent $550 billion in new funds into transportation, broadband and utilities. Where did the rest go?

Except that republican spending bill are as loaded with pork as Democrat bills and republicans have no problem voting for those.
