Well, the DC mayor is going to be off the Democrat Christmas card list.

D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) on Tuesday welcomed federal law enforcement officials to stay in D.C. indefinitely, a powerful indication of her willingness to cooperate with President Donald Trump’s effort to take over public safety in the capital city.

Bowser issued an executive order Tuesday that requires local coordination with federal law enforcement “to the maximum extent allowable by law within the District.” The order gives no expiration date.
 

That's what capitulation looks like. Good to see other mayors such as the one in Chicago hold the line against this authoritarian president.
 

Once it worked, there's no way she can go against the safety of the citizens now. That's why they are fighting tooth and nail elsewhere, for they don't want crime to go down, else they'll look bad.......it's all about the optics for the democrats.

Except it's not working but to intimidate the locals. That's what the radical right wants.

Your own link says that *maybe* some categories of crime have dropped in the 25%ish range, but that data is likely lagging and it’s too soon to tell.

So to flout that as definitive proof that the NG has had ANY impact on actual crime figures is…optimistic I guess?

Well, she's in a unique position. The federal government is constitutionally authorized to completely eliminate DC's local government.

She could have at least claimed that she was checkmated and had no way out until the feds got themselves out of there.
 
Oh…and *if* the National Guard can actually stop crime?

Why - when asked TODAY directly about sending the National Guard to our schools to protect kids - did Trump say no to the idea and pivot to let’s give teachers guns instead?


If the National Guard can stop crime, why not utilize them to stop some of the most horrific crimes there are? Innocent kids getting gunned down in schools?

 

I can pretty much guarantee when Trump's troops hit the pavement in Chicago, they're not going to Englewood or Austin (where they really need to go).

I wouldn't doubt they'll be hanging-out at the Bean, Ferris Wheel, or strolling the Mag Mile or Gold Coast.
 

Most likely they would be there to support “mass deportation” efforts. Some may be used to provide a ‘presence’ to deter shoplifting, carjacking, drug sales and/or drive by shootings.

Given that this is about crime & crime-rates, Englewood & Austin are indeed where they need to go.

IMHO, it’s more about “mass deportation”. Note that the cities mentioned for ‘special attention’ tend to be ‘sanctuary’ cities and in ‘blue’ states.
 
I read that. There was nothing in there I could see as condoning, let alone inviting, military occupation.

Federal doesn't necessarily mean soldiers, sailors, airmen, or marines. Especially when it comes to policing.

Someone is playing semantic games. I suspect Bezo's propaganda rag.
