So anyone on the right want to guess where the term originated? Never mind, the folks on the left know, it came from house Republicans. Read it and weep you border Czar fanatics.

Finally, when the House voted last week on a resolution “strongly condemning the Biden administration and its border CZAR Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border,” six Democrats voted for it. And here I thought it was all biden's fault. Live and learn I say.

She was never the Border Czar. That said I blame Biden for opening the door that allowed R's to claim she was the Border Czar.

From the attache WH piece from the cabinet meeting:
"In addition to that, there’s about five other major things she’s handling, but I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border."

The piece Harris got was as far away from the actual southern border as it gets. it did not include any legislative efforts with the congress regarding border policy or immigration policy for example.

Further into the meeting Biden says Harris is only getting a piece of the total administration effort. Too late Joe. You already claimed Harris was leading something.

Biden should have handed Harris her assignment completely separate from the rest of the administration effort and claimed it as such.

But to be clear, Harris was NEVER THE BORDER CZAR. Not even close.

Bullcrap, the issue is y'all want to call her border czar, nobody in the democratic party gave her that title. However your real point is, she's a woman, she's a Democrat so inevitably it's an immediate failure. Which is a moot point. A bipartisan immigration bill was passed in the House. It was already agreed to be passed in the Senate before being signed. They backed out at the very last second, after a phone call from Trump.

Not only do Republicans own any border issues right now because of their blatant partisan spinelessness, but Trump owns it also, on top of interfering with official policy.

Donald Trump and Republicans put partisanship above fentanyl deaths, and the Harris campaign should be framing it in exactly those terms.

Another poster at Debate Politics that appears to not really understate politics. The point is that Biden opened the door to a political definition of a talking point that has actually gained some traction in some circles in spite of it being inaccurate to the point of being absurd.

- Lousy phrasing by Biden led to the Harris as Border CZAR nonsense. Another case of Biden not seeing the verbal banana peel in the path in front of him. Don't misunderstand me. Biden might well go down as the most relevant and effective one term President in history. He has served his country well.

R's:
- Border Czar referring to Harris.....stupid beyond all comprehension of the English Language but Biden or his staff should have warned him that he was opening a door through his phrasing of what he was trying to say.
- "Stolen valor" is about as stupid as Defund the Police while having the added liability of being a complicated argument to make, full of twists and turns and minutia and trivial, conjecture and supposition. Other than that "Its just peaches!!!!!"

Agreed.....but irrelevant to the topic of the thread. D's will have a hard time making the case about the Senate Supplemental as it is also a complicated story as is the entire border and immigration mess which R's are at least as much or more responsible for than D's

No, she was not in charge of everything. An element of her assignment was to engage in statecraft with the sovereign nations in our southern border.
She even facilitated a bipartisan agreement that would have brought substantially more resources to the problem.
As it turns out, Trump did not want a solution. Instead, he wanted the problem to remain something he could point to to criticize the Democrats.
