I'm becoming more and more interested in foreign-politics as it is viewed and experienced from people in other countries (not, for example, what a political analysis from the US has to say about Iraq, but what someone from that region has to say about what goes on in the region).

So what books would be solid resources for understanding the political and government history in other countries?
