Which part of this has NOT been tried already?Opening up drilling, lossening job killing regulations, stop trying to raise taxes on people every other month; just a few off the top of my head.
The bolded part makes no sense. The biggest thing the Republicans have going for them, is that they know the government can't fix the economy, nor create jobs.
Have we gotten action from the Democrats?
Oh, wait; yes we have, lots of action. How's that worked out for the country, so far?
Same as if we had Republicans in charge instead.
I asked you for your proposals and get nothing but more whining. For your information I don't have a party, I am a conservative but vote Republican because they are the better alternative. Think about it, Gore, Kerry, and Obama. Why would you vote for them? Staying home or voting for a third party just assures those leftwing nuts get elected and re-elected

Revenue rises and falls with GDP, not tax rates.
i have done my research, unlike you my friend, and i refuse to bury my head in the sand, unlike you my friend, and i refuse to avoid reality, unlike you my friend, who avoids it at all costs........take off your conservative colored eyeglasses, and have a look at stark reality my friend....anyone with common sense, who will look at our situation, and is honest, will acknowledge that we need to tackle our debt/deficit from both angles, that of spending cuts, and revenue increases...quit buying what the boehners, limbaughs, hannitys, becks, levins or tea party leaders tell you...taxes have been cut, and cut, and cut some more, and cut some more after that, and what have we gotten? bigger deficits, bigger debt, more debt service being paid, we go further and further in the hole, and i'm gonna tell you something, and i know it will shock you, and i know what your response will be already....psssst...conservative, democrats have had alot of help from republicans getting us into this mess, both are responsible for where we are, and both sides will have to stand up, look their bases in eye, and explain some cold, cruel, hard facts of life to them...we need additional revenue(sorry, cold hard fact here, difficult to stomach for conservatives/republicans) and we need spending cuts(sorry, cold hard fact here, for democrats)When are you going to stop buying the lies coming from this Administration?
IRS Data Show Most Millionaires Pay Taxes At Higher Rate Than Middle Class | Fox News
Until the govt. gets its act together and stops spending and then puts 25 plus million Americans that are unemployed and under employed back to work full time, I will never support tax hikes. You, on the other hand, buy what liberals tell you just like you buy what the union stewards tell you. Try doing some research for a change.
both sides are guilty, one is not better than the other, both have contributed to our mess, this is the response i knew i would get..."but but but, dems spent more" as if that justifies continued support of policy that has led us to this point.Isn't that what the Democrats did in 2007-2008? Were the deficits during the Bush term higher or lower when the Republicans controlled the Congress vs. Democrats controlling the Congress?
and obama was wrong....both sides need to man up and get this country's s### in order, before we are like greece and asking 'hey brother, can you spare a dime?'ahhh, you're bringing crocodile tears to my eyes. Obama is doing nothing but playing politics. He is pandering to his base by acting as if a puny tax on corporate jets will solve all our economic problems. Dem Senators and Reps will not even vote for his phoney bill.
It was only a year ago that Obama was saying that taxes should NEVER be raised during a recession. While we may not be in a textbook definition of a recession, we are awfully close and the majority of people believe are in one.
bull, you are a republican , why lie about it?I asked you for your proposals and get nothing but more whining. that is incorrect- revenue continued to climb after 2005 (in fact, it reached historic post-war high's as a % of GDP), and then plummeted as we decided to rapidly expand government in response to the crash of 2008/2009.
no. because the highest we've ever raised in revenue was 20% of GDP - and we did that with lower taxes and higher growth. furthermore, increased government (as demonstrated) depresses revenues - so you have to cut government in order to increase revenues. the two are inversely linked.
wtf? people acting stupidly is the fault of those who act intelligently?
that, at least, is correct.
the problem is their lifestyle not matching their income.
"oh don't worry honey - house prices will always go up. let's just take out all our equity in an adjustable rate second home mortgage and use the money to go on vacation to the bahama's and then buy you a new car and me a new flatscreen."
if their belts are feeling squeezed, it's because they eat too much; their consumption is higher than is good for them.

if i thought we could balance our books with just cuts, i would support that...i don't, not with the current debt/deficits we have now. you can continue to bury your head in the sand, and deny reality, i , on the other hand , refuse to do that. i will continue to write my congress critters, even the despicable john bonehead, and tell them to pull their heads out of their asses. time to 'man up' for both parties. both sides are responsible for the mess, both sides are needed to clean it up, and both bases are not going to be happy with what needs to be done, but it is reality, politics aside.
bull, you are a republican , why lie about it?
i don't publish fiction my friend , i publish the facts, like 'em or lump 'em, and you have made your posistion clear, that you will continue to live in a fantasy land, and avoid all reality. let me ask you a question....what has the republican secondary mantra of 'starve the beast ' accomplished? especially, when the republicans are as guilty as the dems for deficit spending? seems to me they are doing spending while cutting the means to pay for it....just my opinion, just sayin'...Have you tried to get this post published as pure fiction? You actually believe that giving the Govt. more revenue is going to lower the deficits, create a balanced budget, and start paying down the debt and you are gong to do this by raising taxes on the rich? We have a 3.7 trillion dollar budget, 2.4 trillion in revenue so where is the shortfall going to come from?
doesnt do anything for me, just stating the facts ma'am....your a republicanI am a conservative, grew up a Democrat but if that makes you feel good, go for it. I certainly have nothing in common with the Democrat Party today.

i call myself a centrist, as that is what i am, i , unlike you, am able to call 'bullcrap' on both sides when i see it...you, on the other hand, can't get past repub talking points, can't see that repubs do the same things you accuse dems of...that somehow, in your world, for whatever reason, if both are doing the same thing, as long as one has an (R) next to their name , you will vote for them and fight for them until the bitter end....dealing with reality is not your strong suit my friend.Ok, if that is what you want to believe, great. Why don't you admit who you are, a liberal, because that is what you are yet you call yourself a centrist.
when have republicans actually practiced what they preach when it comes to 'fiscal responsibility'? wait for it...wait for it..wait for....NEVER, NOT IN THE LAST 30 YEARS AT LEASTThere is nothing in your post remotely related to a fact, those are your opinions. Why do you believe this Administration that they will use any additional revenue to lower the deficit? Where are those cuts in this proposal? Think about it and verify the rhetoric. There are NO cuts, i.e. winding down the Iraq/Afghanistan War is already happening thus no new cuts.

doesnt matter, as you are trying to defend the republicans....both are guilty of deficit spending, but you give a pass to one, and not the other, why is that? " but but but they do it too!!" or "but but but they spend more!!!" is not a justification or an adequate defense for your blind loyalty .Ok, answer the question were the deficits higher or lower when the GOP Controlled Congress than when the Democrats controlled Congress? Bush and Congress spent too much but Obama and Congress has put that spending on steroids. The lessor of the two evils are the Republicans.

So again, your point isn't that the Republican party has practiced any amount of conservative fiscal responsibility; it's that they won't take us to hell as quickly. That's not really a ringing endorsement.
