dont want to make too much of 1 incident but one has to wonder if the culture shock and lack of skills ( which applies to many migrants - not just Afghan)
is another 'side benefit' of dragging in millions of unskilled migrants.. example put me in some African country and i'd be ..lost
Terrifying bodycam footage captured the fatal shooting of a former translator for the American forces in Afghanistan who pulled a gun on three Virginia police officers and shouted, “I should have served with the f***ing Taliban.”

Jamal Wali, 36, launched into an anti-American tirade, telling cops he had a weapon after getting pulled over during a routine traffic stop in Fairfax, Virginia, on April 23, according to police body camera footage. Wali immediately interjects, telling the officer, “Yeah, they know! Call Joe Biden or call George Bush!”

I don’t have a driving license,” he adds, “Go back, sit in the f***ing car and leave.”

Becoming more aggressive, the 36-year-old tells the cop he has no vehicle registration. He then refused to provide his identification or share his name – and then tried to reach for his weapon, prompting the officer to call in backup.

“I should have served with f***ing Taliban,” Wali yelled before adding, “They’re better than you.”

A thesis has been presented based on one incident. I understand the political need to do so, unless there is a trend I will draw no conclusion.

Did the man have mental health issues, perhaps. Where there other factors, perhaps.

I read the link. You left out the part in your excerpt where he went on a tirade yelling "I can’t get a job. I can’t get a disability. And they took my f***ing license because I can’t pay the insurance. So why are you trying to kill me?” he asks.

Henry Kissinger was right when he said "It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal." That applies both the national and the individual level. We do a miserable job of taking care of those who put themselves on the line to serve us.

Yes, that's totally not more xenophobic propaganda in your posts, because US citizens never do stupid shit like this.

I cant c/p the entire article. My point was migrants from such a different place face pressure -what he was saying that you quote
It's amazing we brought in as many as we did. but many were never vetted and we still dont know who they are.
Which is the same for many migrants who came here under Biden when the asylum process was overwhelmed

Why do you think he was a migrant? Here in Fairfax County, we have a large number of Afghans. At 36 years old, it’s very likely he was 2nd or 3rd generation American. When I was in Afghanistan 15 years ago, one of the interpreters I worked with happens to live about half a mile from me in Springfield (Fairfax County).

Alternative headline:
"Coming to America turned former ally into desperate and dangerous extremist"

Hmm…

As for Wali’s background, the chief confirmed that references to the Taliban were said to have been in regard to the man’s time prior to coming to the United States, as federal officials confirmed there were no open investigations into Wali. After working as a translator for the military, Wali had come to the United States legally in 2014.

Davis also explained that Wali was lawfully carrying a firearm in Virginia, as previous charges of crimes, even those “diverted to the mental health docket,” did not restrict his Second Amendment right, as he had not been convicted of a felony.

Looks like this country might have failed him in living up to our promises and it pushed him over the edge.

Very sad.

It didn't mention his background in the OP article. So while he was originally from Afghanistan, my point remains that it was an unwarranted assumption based solely on OP.

He was fully aware of the requirement to have a license to drive a registered and insured vehicle on public roadways.

I was referring to calling him a migrant without it being stated in the article. Until you posted an article clarifying his status, calling him a migrant was an assumption.
The guy was clearly unhinged and I am undisturbed by his death.

No license, no registration, but he can buy a car?

That should be against the law.
