BLM Statement on Ma’Khia Bryant

It was a tough situation for the officer for sure, she was armed with a knife and attacking another, a split second decision that had to be made.

That being said, I still think we should invest in the development of better, more reliable less-than-lethal tools that may be able to replace the gun as a first-result tool for officers.

Oh, absolutely. You'll never find me arguing against that kind of police reform.

Cope shifts from ad homs to sealioning. Too bad for him that the answer that he feels entitled to already exists in this thread.

He is welcome to let me know when he is ready for an intelligent debate. 👋
I posted before you did. I went back to edit.

All these claims of ad homs (I didn't attack you by the way) I simply said you rarely back up assertions and sealioning (which must mean something different than you espousing that most people aren't awful people wanting 16 yr old girls shot?)

Is that true Phys251, do you think most folks want 16 yr old girls shot or was that you just being hyperbolic?

All these claims of ad homs

Also addressed. Still waiting for you to make an intelligent point. :cautious:

Show me EXACTLY where I said that. Quote the entire post or I will assume you are lying yet again.

Oh.... no one feeding into your victim blaming narrative? That's because most people around here aren't awful people who think that cops should walk around shooting 15 year old girls.

You have a remarkably optimistic view of right-wing extremists.

You didn't come out and say, you mentioned it in passing as if it was commonplace.

Oh, absolutely. You'll never find me arguing against that kind of police reform.

You will notice that the back-and-forth I'm in right now (not with you) stems from the fact that I had the audacity to ask for precisely that.

Apparently it's some sort of far-left agenda to ask for a decent society.

And here come the juvenile insults. A classic sign of being out of talking points but demanding the need to keep yapping.

Let's help jog MM's memory. This is what he said earlier. I'll include the post of mine that he quoted for context.

Notice the immediate defensiveness of the reaction. MM gave no effort to understand where I was coming from, nor did he pause for one second to realize that...wait for it...I actually defended the officer here!

Instead, he gave a right-wing kneejerk reaction, throwing away whatever chance he had of an intelligent debate.

I know you defended the actions of the police officer shooting a 15 year old girl. That's the problem. People like you want to talk about how awful this child was instead of blaming the adult police officer for executing kids seconds after meeting them.

Your right-wing deflecting to attack the victim isn't working as well as you hope. And when asked, you don't even want to engage in discussion, because the facts don't feed your right wing narrative, and you resort to school yard insults and whining about, get this, rights. (Yeah, we all saw that coming.)

Another assertion posted without proof. Keep 'em coming. This is making me literally laugh out loud.

Another unproven assertion by you.

Jesus kissing allah... guy defends cops shooting kids and then is like "Where did I say that!?"

It's like trailer park college held a course on gaslighting...

Ha hahahahaha. Yes, where oh where would anyone get the idea you defended this officer?

No one is buying your pro cop anti kid blame the victim narrative. It's why, when asked to explain, you ran from it as fast as you could and began to deflect.

Holy shit, I just quoted the post and you chose not to read it. Are you playing the la-la-la-can't-hear you game now?

I quoted it for you.

At any rate, I am done with you.

Bye.

As I said before, feel free to engage in an honest debate with me any time. :)

Well, I've already explained at length why I don't see anything the officer could reasonably expect to do otherwise given the absurdly short amount of time in which he had to act to prevent Ma'Khia from carving up the girl in pink.

I could say more about this statement, but I won't, since I know this Trumpist thread is dishonestly designed to use one statement to try to attack the BLM movement, and that the the real overall purpose there is to discredit the idea that black lives matter just as much as anyone else's.

Right, because you care about the life of the girl who was saved....

Even though most of us agreed that this police shooting was indeed justified, the Right refuses to let it go. It's almost as if they were hoping for a twofer.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to realize when you're being trolled. Good for you. I always Charlie Brown for these people, and kick at that debate football even though they swap it for insults and deflection every single time.

I repeat my comment to Cope, to you.

I think the BLM statement is wrong in this case. This was going to end in tragedy no matter what, its just a question of tragic for whom.

Dude, you're busted. You can't defend officers who shoot kids, then admit that you defended officers who shoot kids and then, two posts later, deny that you defended officers. I literally quoted your posts. It's over.

Why do you keep making dishonest statements for all to see? Why are you not quoting the relevant posts in context so that we may finally see them? I'm the one saying that you should get all the relevant posts up so we can see them, and you refuse to do it! You think that we're dumb enough to fall for this, MM

seems simple enough to resolve. MM please show us the posts you are referencing

I think it's a case of there being so many situations where the officer could have or definitely should have used no lethal force, and the police still defend it. It's basically a boy-who-cried-wolf situation.

They're locked in. They are given the narrative. They are required to run with it. And if some non-Trumpist says something they're not supposed to, they're simply told that they're lying about what they mean and they in fact mean whatever the narrative requires.

I've recently been told that I sympathize with antifa despite noting that they're a bunch of random loosely-associated groups of thugs and the like. Because it's not enough to agree that those people tend to be crap (if they really are self-identified as antifa, not labeled as such by Fox). If I don't also pretend it's some vast organization with ties to the DNC that is backed by all liberals, that means I sympathize and am lying about what I really believe.

So. Damn. Stupid.

I have already done so. See post # 61, read it, and if you still have questions, reply to it so that I know you've read it and I can answer any questions you may have.

I quoted them in post #61. You replied to it. Do you still have questions? Your gaslighting is over dude; don't defend officers who shoot kids and then try to back away from it. Own it and debate it like an adult.
