I have long thought that wacko right wing conspiracy nuts were confined to internet forums and self styled news letters. Much to my astonishment I discovered that they were also in the house of representatives in the form of House Republican Leaders. They wanted the impeachment inquiry voted on. They got it. They wanted 'due process' for the president and they got that in the rules for impeachment which were passed in the house. Both of these things that they were demanding, they now have. Funny thing, though, house republicans, to a man, voted against each measure. To top it off, house republican leaders held a press conference decrying the rules as Moscow show trial type rules and worse. Republican leaders! Seriously!

Have you ever tried to play checkers with someone when they get to decide whether or not you can make the move you want to?

Yes, investigations suck for those who are being investigated.

Okay. Typos. No problem.

Dems: You can have due process, BUT!!!, you must ask me first and you'll only get it if I say okay".

Too much Kool Aid, big guy. No they don't have "due process" or a fair hearing, they have the lunatic Schiff controlling everying: questions, witnesses, subpoenas, even committee releases.

So you are buying into the house rep leaders sob story? Poor, abused republicans. Give me a break already.

Investigations suck more when no crime has been identified.
.
Here is the problem with that. Both sides agree to the facts. The republicans attitude is "so what?" Democrats say it violates the law, the constitution, and the doctrine of separation of powers, among others. it is important that this covers much more that a single phone call. But we are getting off topic. Republicans got what they wanted and they are still pissing and moaning.

Still treating republicans much better than republicans treat democrats. For instance, we kick sexually predatory members out of the party and out of office. Republicans have elevated one to the presidency and two to the bench. Getting off topic. Republicans were pissing and moaning about actions taken under and according to rules that they passed. How childish is that? It would be funny except that these are supposed to be our country's leaders. Think about that!

That was not what I entered. I think the moderator is mad at me or there was a software glitch or something. I proof read before posting.

I heard my GOP congressman tonight explain that the senate can actually issue a decision that ends the impeachment nonsense without a hearing

I believe you. I have had strange stuff happen too.

That is the purpose of the investigation though, isn't it? People guilty of crimes are not investigated, they are charged. People who are suspected of crimes are investigated, and then charged if the investigation concludes that they are in fact guilty.

Not really. Usually it's something along the lines of , "someone broke into my house. Please investigate". What we have happening here is more along the lines of, "That guy down the street looks kind of shady and a lot of people say he's been breaking into houses and I have seen him near a house and somebody else broke into a house a while ago and I don't want that shady looking guy to break into a house so please investigate him".

And someone overheard the shady looking guy ask a burglar on a phone call to break into my house and threatened to withhold money if he didn't, and the shady looking guy hid a transcript that was made of the call on an encrypted server, and then said on national television that I deserved to have my house broken into. Yeah, maybe that shady looking guy warrants an investigation at that point.

That's not what was asked. That's Schiff's "parody" of what took place.

They're going to play jurors. Snuffing the hearing prematurely would be political suicide. They did claim to want transparency.
