Says the zero hedge guyBill Nye is a quack. Complete loon.

He has a Bachelors degree. So what? He pretends to be an expert. He's not.He went to Cornell and worked at Boeing before educating millions.
He’s hugely successful and an icon among educated people all over the world.
So the Canadian prime Minister asked the head Canadian rocket scientist, "can you build a few working missiles for defense?". The Canadian rocket scientist says, "I'm not sure but it would be better if you could just purchase some from the United States."And you claim to have post secondary education?
I call bullshit.
So American engineers decided to solve the problem of ball-point pens not working well in zero gravity. They put their best engineering minds on the puzzle and after 18 months of intense research and experimentation they produced a pen that would work in zero gravity, underwater, in extreme cold and in extreme heat.So the Canadian prime Minister asked the head Canadian rocket scientist, "can you build a few working missiles for defense?". It's even worse than that. He only has a bachelor's degree. Real engineering programs take five years. Why are we asking a mechanical engineer about climate science?
I remember those days, including a Time cover pitching that theory, or at least putting it up as a possibility. Not really. It's not just about increasing carbon but other chemicals that magnify the effect, such a CFCs and reducing carbon-absorbing ecosystems. When I was in 7th grade, we were headed towards the next Ice Age due to human activity. And the correct concept is Global Climate Change, not Global Warming.

The Russians used a pencil.

A 500 year storm is one which has a theoretical 1 in 500 chance of occurring in a given year. If you get two of them in two years, it could just be luck of the draw, or it could be a sign that your theory is faulty or out of date. I think recently, it has been the second.
He's giving his opinion. Like it or lump it.He has a Bachelors degree. So what? He pretends to be an expert. He's not.
That is what I remember. At that time we were putting out both CO2 and soot. The theory was that the soot would cool our climate. Then in the early 70s, we got the EPA and emission controls on soot, but we still put out CO2, which may very well be warming our climate, without the soot to counterbalance it. Now we are getting warmer.I'm going to guess the time magazine issue was around 1975 give or take a year.
The value of mine is exactly the same as his. He's giving his opinion. Like it or lump it.
What's the value of your opinion?
So I was just reading this about 30 minutes ago. That is what I remember.
www.thecooldown.com
So there you go. His opinion is as valuable as yours. The value of mine is exactly the same as his.
He says a lot of very stupid things. So there you go. His opinion is as valuable as yours.
I'm pretty sure, though, that Bill Nye won't show up here refuting the value of your input.
And you don't?He says a lot of very stupid things.
Bil Nye has zero reason at all to be pretending to be an authority. And you don't?
Does he have a science degree? No Mechanical Engineering, but kinda science but not weather.
My degree is from Bradley University and Master's from the University of Missouri.
Do you have a College degree?
Russian.What's your first?
Because someone who for their entire life has been scientifically curious knows magnitudes of order more than the relatively scientifically llliterate general populace.
The destructive power of these floods are a direct result of global warming and they are only going to get worse and more frequent. What a great time to cut the budgets of the NWS and NOAA and green energy initiatives. The harm that will come from these foolish moves will be hellish .
Unlike you, Bill Nye isn’t. Making shit up.I get that. But that doesn't make him a Global Climate Scientist, does it? His career was built on freezing balloons with nitrogen and pouring vinegar on baking soda for children's entertainment.
Does he, or anyone else, have a comprehensive plan to stop global warming (preferably without destroying the world economy and starving millions of people)?
Green energy. Why would that destroy the world economy and starve millions of people?
You realize there are lots of comprehensive plans in place, right?"Green energy" is not a "comprehensive plan." We can't just snap our fingers and suddenly have all the green energy we need.
