Bill Maher says Trump wasn't the same person you see on TV after White House meeting (1 Viewer)

I see his actions as a response. Not starting anything, but responding to things.

Yes, you guys like to tell yourselves that lie so you can comfort yourself in your hate.

You mean standing up for the people who do not want their rights and way of life trampled on?

Reagan had very positive values.

The right is responding to the dictatorial actions and hate of the left.

Trump came out of the gate with hatred and anger toward anyone he deems an opponent, especially at first his fellow Republicans. He is an attack dog who goes after anyone who doesn’t bow to him.

Trump has violated the constitution from day one and shows zero regard for individual rights.

The right is following Trump’s propensity for being the boss and firing people and dictating what should or shouldn’t be done and what opinions should or shouldn’t be expressed. He is creating an atmosphere of fear to all who disagree with him.

Trump created a false victimization narrative that his cult entirely bought into. Trump is in reality the victimizer.

Not at all. You refuse to try to understand my point of view. That is on you. Not me.

Your point of view is that you are the poor put upon victim. That is what Trump constantly pretends to be and apparently many fall for the act.

Can you blame him for all the lies, slander, and lawfare?

Believe as you wish.

Believe as you wish.

He was never a victim. He was never lied about, slandered, or a victim of lawfare. These are just the false claims he makes to create the narrative fiction of victimhood. There is nothing factual about it. This is not about beliefs, but facts. Trump has a record of illegal and unethical behavior and has found himself in legal troubles for his entire life because of what he does. These are factually documented, not anyone’s opinion. His conviction for crimes is a fact, not an opinion of lawfare taking place. Others have been convicted of similar crimes. There was nothing at all unique about Trump’s legal troubles. Only a graduate of Trump University would deny that Trump has always been a crook.

He is the victim of liberal hate, slander, and lies.

Trump has never been a victim except in the fiction that he constantly promotes. He is the one who has always hated, lied, and slandered anyone who he deems an enemy.

I respectfully disagree with your comparison and premise. The claim that people are "disappearing without due process" under Trump’s policies doesn’t hold up. [...]
It’s one thing to deport someone. It’s another to knowingly send them to permanent imprisonment in a foreign prison notorious for human rights abuses. That’s not enforcement—it’s extrajudicial punishment dressed up in the language of immigration law.

The moment deportation becomes permanent incarceration, due process becomes mandatory, not optional. The Fifth Amendment applies to all persons on U.S. soil—citizen or not.
  • In Yamataya v. Fisher (1903) and Zadvydas v. Davis (2001), the Supreme Court affirmed that even undocumented immigrants are entitled to meaningful due process and protection against indefinite detention.
  • Deportation is legally civil, not criminal—so it avoids many protections. But when it’s used to impose permanent punishment, that legal fiction collapses. In Padilla v. Kentucky (2010), the Court recognized deportation can be as severe as a criminal penalty.
  • Garcia had legal status. His deportation was not enforcement—it was administrative failure. Deporting him into a life sentence abroad, without judicial review, violates both U.S. constitutional protections and international law, including the Convention Against Torture.
  • Under 8 U.S. Code § 1231(b)(3) and CAT, the U.S. cannot deport someone to a country where they’re likely to face imprisonment, torture, or inhumane treatment.

This is not immigration policy. It is rendition by executive whim, a constitutional atrocity carried out under the false banner of law. If we permit it, we’re not defending the rule of law—we’re burying it.
This process, while expedited, meets legal standards for due process in such cases. Equating this to Hitler’s actions is a stretch,
You're ignoring how I qualified the comparison.
and dismissing Trump entirely on principle overlooks these distinctions. I’m surprised Maher’s comments shocked you—he’s just engaging with reality, not endorsing Trump's policies.
There are verified reports of individuals disappearing under the Trump administration's immigration policies, particularly through actions taken by ICE

Maher got played, plain and simple, I thought he was smarter than this. I mean, sure, Trump is no Hitler, but to illustrate this point, if you interviewed Hitler, you'd come away thinking he was a charming fellow, mild mannered (there's an audio tape of him speaking casually, quite unlike the madman we see in his oratories, he likes kids, dogs, animals, etc. ) But, would you say all these nice things about him? I wouldn't, and given Trump is destroying America, I wouldn't say anything nice about him, either.
Maybe it's the Liberals that are the ones being played.

Maher is a fairly well-known person who some fools still listen to - this is enough for Trump to roll out the con.
Fairly well known? He has had his own show for over 30 years and has been nominated for 10 Emmys and has won one. Maybe you should get your facts straight.

You can bet that Maher does not appreciate being aligned to the right.

You lefties don't get it. You are proving the bad traits of the left though. Bill speaks openly about why the democrats lost, and you guys are disowning him for his honesty. He is trying to help the left, and you guys shun anyone who disagrees with the narrative.

Trying to silence anyone who has a differing viewpoint is rather evil in my book, but you guys constantly do it.

Yeah, as I said, fairly well known.

I was using what is called understatement.

I myself watched a few of his shows over the years, but not in the past...5 or so?

I am sure he hasn't noticed.

Nah he just sounds like a stupid version of Joe Rogan

Not using 'stupid' in terms of where he may fall on the iq percentile.
Yes. I understand. People with limited tolerance calls anyone stupid thar doesn't believe like they are suposed to.

I beg your pardon?

Anyway, having watched some Bill Maher clips I'll amplify my adjective to 'painfully unfunny guy who laughs inordinately at his own so-called jokes'. Maybe it's a US humour thing that goes over my head.

I agree. He is a bad comedian, but he is politically savy.

Lol this meme has it completely backwards, except for the last part. the left wants there to always be a choice, except for guns they got that part correct.
I'm sorry you are blinded by your liberal indoctrination.

The left wants to use abortion as birth control, rather than just medical necessity.

The left tells us the rich make too much money.

The left tells us we have to stop using fossil fuel and use wind and solar.

The left makes anything that is not politically correct, taboo.

The left wants to teach other people's children things that most parents disapprove of.

The left insist that a pronoun is a personal choice, and not all people believe that.

The left wants to take out guns away.

That post is accurate. The left is nothing but dictatorial.

People always make this assumption. I am not liberal, nor do I have any indoctrination.
The left wants to use abortion as birth control, rather than just medical necessity.
This is always the go to, it is untrue, I believe there are some people that use it that way, but this generalization is incorrect.
The left tells us the rich make too much money.
This seems to ignore the actual argument, The argument is that percentage wise the Rich have so many loop holes that they barely pay anything out of their income to taxes. They also make enough money to raise wages and lower costs. Those are the actual arguments.
The left tells us we have to stop using fossil fuel and use wind and solar.
The left tells you that using fossil fuels are causing issues with the land you have to live off of and that alternate sources will be better for the environment.
The left makes anything that is not politically correct, taboo.
They say you should be nice to people, if you are not nice they will point it out.
The left wants to teach other people's children things that most parents disapprove of.
Give me some examples.
The left insist that a pronoun is a personal choice, and not all people believe that.
Again be nice to people. Religions insist people treat them a specific way as well.
The left wants to take out guns away.
I generally believe this is true. I am pro guns, but i also believe that something needs to be done to prevent the death and violence we see.
That post is accurate. The left is nothing but dictatorial.
Only if you completely misunderstand where they are coming from.
