What is needed is a conference between the legislative leaders, Pelosi, McCarthy, Hoyer, McConnell, Schumer and the president or his representatives to hammer out a deal. Not necessarily satisfactory to all, perhaps one no one likes due to their partisan ideology, but one that benefits and helps the people.

Playing partisan politics with the Corona Virus situation in order to gain a political advantage in November the height of irresponsibility to all Americans. If these two major parties of ours can't get their stuff together for the good of all Americans very quickly, they need to be destroyed. I'll vote third party against both in November and urge all Americans who put country first, over political party to do the same.

When a crisis like this occurs, the political rancor and partisanship should be left behind at the door with both parties working together to solve this thing. We've elected total idiots who only care about their political party. Nothing else.

On Monday, Sens. Chris Murphy of Connecticut and Brian Schatz of Hawaii are introducing a bill to require the President to fully use the Defense Production Act to ensure the necessary supply of medical equipment.

The 1950 law gives the president the ability to force factories to produce key equipment and allocate resources where they are needed. President Trump invoked the bill last week but said he does not plan to use it.

We've seen how that kind of thing goes...it's been done before...and it ends with Nancy saying "No" and then she and Chuck immediately talking to the media and bad-mouthing the President.

No...I prefer to see the Senate Dems and Reps come to an agreement and then see Nancy blow it up, like what happened this weekend. This way, Nancy gets held responsible for her actions.

But you don't speak for yourself. Typical Mycroft. Won't go on record in words of your own in any declaratory statement that is debatable. What action of the NYT says what and why is it wrong and what evidence do you have to support such claim? Making a straight-forward, honest, debatable claim is the last thing Mycroft will do.

true.

Have no fear, they will all pass a bill and it will make so much more sense when the GOP slush fund gets some strict rules. I for one don't want Trump hotels drawing from the slush fund without any accountability. I do not trust the GOP or the WH.

Yeah, I was just reading about this crap. Pelosi came back to town and demolished the carefully constructed the bipartisan package Congress had spent the entire weekend putting together.

She and Schumer are holding up progress to squeeze in some crap from the far left's wish list; stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with actually help people and businesses survive the economic backlash of this pandemic.



Pelosi and Schumer need to be impeached, expelled, recalled - whatever it takes to get them out of the process. They should also be expelled to Wuhan.

Specific democrat leaders are using a medical crisis (we can discuss if it really is a crisis in other threads) as an opportunity to remake the nation in accordance with their own agendas. I want my $1k check, my wife has already spent it. And much more. Her check is irrelevant to me, according to her.

The Fed today announced it will print enough money for everyone. Can we assume that includes non tax payers?

You have to laugh when you see the corporate loan funding is in the form of loan guarantees for those who can get approvals through current extant agencies and subject to existing standards. Extending unemployment insurance compensation is also part of the package, already approved in committee. Funds guaranteed. Will Musk apply for either?

It's pretty hilarious to watch Fox "News" frantically try to re-write the history of their coverage. After weeks of following Comrade Trump's denial, they suddenly pivoted to insisting that they had taken the virus seriously all along.

HANNITY, March 9: "This scaring the living hell out of people -- I see it, again, as like, let's bludgeon Trump with this new hoax."
