'Big fat nothing': Mueller prosecutor walks through a fact-check of John Durham's report

"Durham's whole thing is predicated on — it's like a rabbit hole conspiracy that suggests that the Trump-Bill Barr paranoia infected his ability to stand back and evaluate whether the probe yielded guilty convictions of people who would have had nothing to do with any of these questions he looked at," said Wallace. "It is a view from so far down the rabbit hole that what needs a scrub, what needs oversight is what Mr. Durham did that repelled his long-time prosecutorial partner, Nora Dannehy and other prosecutors."

Nora Dannehy was a key partner of Durham's who resigned, complaining that the work Durham was doing was all about giving Trump information for political purposes. It all came to a head in what was reported as an "explosive" meeting. She quit shortly after.
...
Comparing the Durham probe to the Justice Department's 2019 Inspector General report, Weissmann explained that the IG's report was "properly predicated" that there was "no bias." What was at issue was a list of internal FBI rules and policies on investigations, none of which are laws that FBI agents or officers broke.

=============
Essentially, Durham's claim about the Russian hoax was a hoax itself. After spending millions of taxpayer money, Durham couldn't get a conviction and his plan to uncover all kinds of misdeeds and crimes by Clinton, was a big nothing.

Now, Cong. Comer is off doing the same thing.
LMAO. Weismann the hit man says "Nothing to see here folks"?

Gotta say - Mueller presecutors are experts on "big fat nothings."
The big fat something there was Bill Barr, and his coverup. ;) But I'm pullin' for ya little buddie. Maybe they'll eventually slam The Biden Crime Family for jaywalking.

25 LKCs, no stated business, money laundered to the Biden Crime syndicate

But yet:

If not for the Durham investigation and court trials, I'm rather doubtful that even this would have happened.

What the Durham investigation did bring to light (and other sources as well):
  1. The 'Russian Collusion' was indeed a hoax
  2. The 'Steele Dossier' was fabricated by Igor Danchenko
  3. The 'Steele Dossier' was initiated by, and paid for by the Clinton campaign
  4. Internal FBI documents call Steele an unreliable source, yet the FBI took it to the FISA court seeking warrants
  5. Internal FBI documents state that 'there was nothing there', yet Strzok, and others in FBI management, pushed to keep Crossfire-Hurricane operation active
  6. FBI management went before the FISA court multiple times for warrants based largely, but not exclusively, on the Steele Dossier (without the Steele Dossier, there likely wouldn't have been any FISA warrants), even after their own internal documents called Steele an unreliable source
  7. The Obama administration knew of the Clinton campaign's plans WRT Russian collusion, having been briefed about it by Brennan
  8. The Obama administration did nothing to prevent the politicization of the FBI nor it's use as a political weapon (much like his the politicization of, and use as political weapons, of a number of other federal agencies)
Neither the Clinton campaign nor the FBI come out at the end as looking very good. The Clinton campaign for their Machiavellian Machinations, and FBI for what clearly is political bias and fraud before the FISA court.

Let's hope that the FEC fine cited above is sufficient to prevent similar dirty politics, the result of which have damaged the nation, the electorate, a legally and legitimate elected president and that presidency.
Yeah but besides all that what was wrong with the investigation?

In my opinion the same elements are in the FBI and the DOJ and they will tilt the scale in another election against Trump and in favor of Biden.

LMAO. Weismann the hit man says "Nothing to see here folks"?
Exactly what you'd expect him to say.
He has no desire to have the crap on which his Mueller 'total waste of time' was justified on to be brought out into the bright, disinfecting sunlight.

The corrupt DC bureaucracy protects it's own.

Yeah but besides all that what was wrong with the investigation?
Not so much 'wrong with the investigation'.
More so that the corrupt DC bureaucracy prevents any much needed accountability from taking place.

Sadly most folks in the gop discard facts which enables them to believe anything they wish to believe.
Low information voters who lack critical thinking skills, it's the GOP

They have already dropped the Durham investigation and are on to the Hunter Biden investigation and it's mysterious whistleblowers that don't actually exist.
Wait a couple of weeks, or until the "HunterBidenInvestigation" starts to lose steam.

When that happens the failure of the "DurhamInvestigation" to -determine what they wanted it to determine- find out the truth, will be cause for a "NewDurhamInvestigation" which will -determine what they want it to determine- find out the truth AND reveal why the DurhamInvestigation didn't do so previously.

When that starts to lose steam, then there will be a "NewHunterBidenInvestigation" ...

When that starts ...

Yes, but it is expected since that was never the purpose of the Durham investigation.
Fair. Durham's investigation brought out the entire sordid scandal into the bright disinfecting sunlight.

Durham's investigation proved the entire Russian Collusion hoax, and the 3+ years of turmoil division and damage it put the nation into, were all directly accountable back to the Hillary campaign, her DNC, democrat political operatives / sycophants in the corrupt DC bureaucracy and DOJ / FBI.

We already knew points 1 through 7 two to three years ago.

Point 8 is an opinion, not fact.

So...yeah...this is a big, fat nothing.

That isn't a fact check. It is in fact an opinion piece.

Yes. The Durham investigation is a big fat nothing...just like the Mueller investigation. That's because they weren't conducted to actually find anything. That wasn't their purpose.
The report tells us quite a bit actually. It confirms that the FBI opened a full investigation into Trumps circle with an unusual level of eagerness. They skipped many protocols to launch it.

They used the statements of two Australian diplomats that conflicted with each other, about a conversation with Papadapolous at a bar. A conversation at the most states that he eluded to the possibility that Trumps team might be in contact with Russians. Only one of the two diplomats remembers it that way. The second had a different recollection of what was said in the conversation.

3 days after those interviews Strozk opened operation hurricane. He did not vet any of the information or do any preliminary investigation which is all standard protocol in this type of a situation. He opened a full blown investigation and Andy McCabe, his superior, approved it.

That is not nothing. Not only does it need to be explained why they deviated from protocol, the FBI also needs to explain what these changes they made are and how they will prevent this from being done to anyone in the future.

This is all stuff that was already known, even if the Trump haters didn't want to admit it. Also, nothing will be done to hold anybody responsible or correct the ability for the corrupt to do it some more.
You mean the corruption that you know, just know happened but can't prove?

It's great fun when you minimize things that you ardently supported like Durham, Cyber Ninjas, Brnovich, etc. It is so predictable and so hypocritical. And you always try to move the goalposts.
Honor. Integrity.

Things of the past.
