Biden's Soviet-era Nominee for Comptroller of the Currency

Right now about 10% of Americans own crypto. Bitcoin is only 12 years old.

Explain how someone who owns more crypto than me is my banker.

And 99% of crypto is owned by1% of all crypto owners.

When crypto becomes the new standard, people will need loans, mortgages, etc. all the things banks provide now. And the 1% who own 99% of all cryptocurrency will just become the new bankers.

Nobody really knows who owns what.

All of that can be provided privately. People who make loans now, for example hard money lenders, are not considered banks.

Experts who have been studying crypto for years have a pretty good idea of how much of it is concentrated in the hands of the major players.

They may not be legally considered banks, but there is no practical difference. The Medici just started out as a bunch of rich people with money too.

In broad strokes then, given the present shit show state of this administration, incompetent it would have to be.
Assumes facts not in evidence. The administration is not a shit show, nor has any background you've provided on your fertilizer dump resulted in a single failure in their jobs - and certainly not tearing down their departments. None whatsoever. Try again?
Further, I don't agree that they were selected based on competence, experience nor desire to excel at their jobs. I posted they were selected due to ideology, the same way that Harris was selected to check a diversity box, come to think of it.
OK - you're entitled to disagree. But you've yet to substantiate any claims of lack of experience or competence in their jobs. Nor even a scintilla of evidence that they're interested in destroying their departments - unlike Trump's appointees across the board.
I notice you ignore the radical experiences of the individuals cited. I guess that's because it's inconvenient to you.
Hey - either they're doing their jobs - or they're not. Which is it? You tell me - and with something resembling actual evidence other than "I don't agree . . . . " If not, then you're just griping about their opinions, which is nothing, and their past associations - kind of like Trump and Jeffery Epstein.
So anything that you don't agree with is 'fertilizer dump'. Ahh. OK. This isn't going to go far.
Hey - this thread was about Omarova. YOU'RE the one who tried to dump Gupta, Dunn, Sherman, et al into the mix. The effluent dump truck was YOUR move, and then you have the nerve to cry foul when I remind everyone about Trump's appointees - people selected specifically to tear the government apart ??!!?? A secretary of Education who's never seen the inside of a public school? An EPA director who's defining achievement was suing the EPA?? An idiot DoE Director who admitted he didn't even know what the department did, even though he vowed to close it during his White House run??? It just went on and on and on.

NO! You don't get to bitch, ever, about Biden appointments. Not EVER!
So moved goal posts. OK.
WHAT ???!!! I'm the one who set the goal posts !! - back on post #7. That goal post only involved Omarova . . . . up until your effluent dump. I set the goal posts, you kicked, and sliced wide right. No goal. You missed !!

🤣 Just goes to prove the old adage that you can't make the willfully blind to see.

They aren't doing their jobs, clearly.

Hey - this thread was about Omarova.
Per the OP's citation:

Ms. Omarova wants to put an “‘end to banking’ as we know it”—again, her words—and transfer private banking functions to the Federal Reserve, where accounts would “fully replace” private bank deposits. The Fed would control “systemically important prices” for fuel, food, raw materials, metals, natural resources, home prices and wages.
She says the Fed should be remade into what she calls “The People’s Ledger.” By “the people” she means progressive elites like her. She calls for “reimagining” the role of central banks “as the ultimate public platform for generating, modulating, and allocating financial resources in a modern economy.”

By her cited words alone she's disqualified herself from any government position, much less one in control over banking. Communistical centralized economics like this simply don't work, as demonstrated in history, and are driven by ideology rather than reality.

YOU'RE the one who tried to dump Gupta, Dunn, Sherman, et al into the mix. The effluent dump truck
goes to show pattern.

'Properly limit' the federal government.

Sorry, but I get to bitch about whatever I want.

Do you believe that someone who hasn't repudiated her Soviet-era banking and economic views is qualified to be the Comptroller of the Currency?

Wasn't it the left side of the political aisle which was screaming and flogging on 'Russia! Russia! Russia!" for oh so many years? Shouldn't those same people be screaming "Russia! Russia! Russia!" now?

You didn't answer the question. You're requiring she repudiate what you can't prove is her intended economic practice. That's why we have Congressional hearings on hiring for such position in question. Does she have the education, skills and experience to qualify as a legitimate candidate for the position in question?

Her extremist economic policies disqualifies her from consideration. End of story.

That may be the end of the story. I don't know. But during the story you refuse to respect the debate process and answer a reasonable question that you owe the debate. You are not a forthright debater. You give the runaround and runaway from nothing more than a normal, rational debate question. See you on another thread.

From the WSJ (sorry, paywall), an informative editorial on nominee Saule Omarova and her commitment to Marxist economic principles. This is not hyperbole.

From the editorial:

How many times are we going to have to learn the road to economic hell begins with the completely naive belief that a large-scale, modern economy can be centrally planned?
lol

Sure, "Marxist economic principles", no hyperbole there.

Your subjective opinion noted and valued as such.

Exactly, none at all. Collectivism and anti-capitalist themes are often part of CRT inspired messages. Have you really not noticed?
Fact Check: True

What is Critical Race Theory?
An outgrowth of the European Marxist school of critical theory, critical race theory is an academic movement which seeks to link racism, race, and power. Unlike the Civil Rights movement, which sought to work within the structures of American democracy, critical race theorists challenge the very foundations of the liberal order, such as rationalism, constitutional law, and legal reasoning. Critical race theorists argue that American social life, political structures, and economic systems are founded upon race, which (in their view) is a social construct.

Uh huh. Sure they are. Really scared of that CRT I see.

My guess is that you read more Fox News stories than do I.
I don't know why but tons of Republicans swear they don't watch Fox. It's the weirdest thing.
