Biden's press conference gets panned by critics: 'Total disaster'

President Biden's address ignited some of his fiercest Twitter critics, who panned various parts of the eye-brow-raising remarks.

President Biden spent most of 2021 avoiding press conferences, but he held one on Wednesday, which was panned as being a "total disaster."

The White House had high hopes for Biden's press conference on Wednesday — hoping to paint the administration as a less-cloistered outfit that embraces the public and transparency. With Biden's strikingly low popularity numbers, the president was expected to cast himself as a competent leader, who is in touch with the problems of everyday American voters.

But the debacle that took place behind the podium from the East Room of the White House on Wednesday did little to support that persona according to reaction to the press conference.

"Biden is the worst president in history. A total disaster," Daily Wire reporter Ryan Saavedra agreed.

Couldn't agree more as I once thought that was Carter but Carter was coherent and not oblivious to reality. How about it liberals did Biden "outperform" expectations? 53% or more don't agree

It was too long, yet too short; answers were too vague, yet too detailed; they were too short on policy, yet had too much policy; he was too angry, yet too folksy; he only called on friendly press, but took questions from FOX and Newsmax.

Here's the problem with today's media, they have the same credibility and approval ratings as Biden. They along with 35-40% of the public still supports Biden thus the rest of the country is wrong

How about economic results, per Biden policies not red state policies? How about that success in Afghanistan? How about those approval numbers and leadership qualities?

There was nothing about that press conference that was worthwhile, but the hit pieces from FoxNews and others miss the mark.

The real issue is an outright liar.

Very little has been accomplished over the first year of office, very little has been "unifying" for this nation let alone within his own party, and overall the roses and sunshine view of things was disingenuous at best.

The bottom line is candidate Biden was in no way what President Biden is.

Those of us who are independent who voted *not Trump are stuck with the realization that Biden might be a one term President but odds are will be facing a Republican controlled next Congress.

For good reason, the moderate unifier of the party ended up succumbing to Democratic Party far left talking points and vilification campaigns against opposition especially from within their own party. Useless temper tantrums, off the mark comments, outright lies, and so forth have damaged the message. Some of us voted expecting reason and purpose in place of the lunacy of the previous President, instead we got lunacy from the other party.

Lots of problems here.

I think it was too long. It makes more sense to have shorter press conferences but more frequently. I too think he lost his composure during some of the questions; something best avoided and also a dynamic that happens when you get similar questions from different reporters. Also, having press conferences for particular big ticket items helps to keep the conversation and questions in focus. I don't think Biden fared particularly well through some sections of it.
