Biden wants to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

Maybe because of the tens of thousands of dead every year?

You're treading dangerously.

I've never killed a single person with my guns. Nor have tens of millions of other gun owners.

My opinion is that you don't give two shits about tens of thousands of deaths, when you think they're to your benefit.

No lots of stupid people have made similar comments.

So, people in cities are somehow less important than people in rural areas simple because, reasons?

Ok.

By oppressing the majority?

The majority is not oppressed just because they aren't free to inflict their nonsense on, and lord it over the minority.

How am I treading dangerously by quoting a simple number?
I won't benefit one way or the other by whatever happens with guns in the US.
Why would I?
It's simply a personal opinion and nothing more.

Democracy normally works by the majority being the guys in power.

I know you'll say the US isn't a democracy but it functions as one.

What a stupid thing to say and totally ignores the fact they are represented in the House. It’s like asking why NYC has so many members in the House while some states only have 1

I am not in favor of an AR ban, but when polled the vast majority of Americans are in favor of banning them.

That somehow makes them all anti americans who want to chuck the constitution in the bin.

It's how one of the houses works and is why it's contraversial.
Some rural states have the same representation as others with a much larger population and for many that seems massively unfair.

I can see their point.

Their point is they are ignorant on how the US government works. The House of Representatives is who represents the people based on their population density (it’s in the name is a big hint). Those areas are represented. Like I said it’s why some major cities have more representation in the House than some state do.

Maybe you'd have better luck talking to people if you weren't condescending and rude
you're one to talk.

What do you think you can be how rude you are and not get anything in return for it maybe if you are a little nicer to people it wouldn't feel the need to be condescending back.

I think lecturing us about how we're not like your country is one of the most rude f****** things you can do.

So again I know this is a big ask but just give up millisecond of thought before you open your trap
but that doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon.
I give what I get so the second you decide to be polite you will get that in return.
I'd love to say it was a pleasure but it really wasn't so, bye.
well then don't talk to me you don't have to respond.

The second you stop lecturing me about my country as if you're in any position to know then I'll quit being rude back to you lecturing me about where I live as if you know better than I do is the rudest f****** thing you could possibly do.

So if you don't want to be treated the way I'm treating you don't be a hypocrite.

Then your expressed concern for tens of thousands of dead was a sham.

My point is the chances are so much higher for you it's silly.
And yet still extremity low. Especially if you are not involved in a gang.
Tell me do you live in constant fear that you are going to die in a car wreck. Do you think Americans should.

Because in America the odds of dying in a car crash are higher than being murdered by someone with a gun.

Obviously it doesn't, or you Majority Uber Alles guys wouldn't always be bitching.

If both houses are involved in making laws then they should both use the population to decide representation.

It just seems odd that they don't but then again I come from the UK that has the House of Lords which is a ****ed up mess of epic proportions so I could be wrong.

Seriously, if you don't know what the house of lords is don't bother looking as it'll confuse the **** out of you.
It's our second chamber where laws are scrutinsed and it's all sorts of bonkers.

See this is what I mean about lecturing us about our country thousands aren't Dead every year because people own guns.

Thousands are dead every year because they commit suicide or they commit murder whether I own the gun or not that wouldn't change that.

No over 100 million people in this country owns so if we assume all of the people who commit murder or suicide are legal gun owners they're not but let's assume they are that wouldn't even be 1%.

Do you get why it's foolish to blame waffle gun owners for law enforcement failing to do their job?

I don't own a car so no, not really.
I suppose I'm lucky in that I can walk to work.

I'm not trying to be sarky, just answering the question.

I think you’re missing this. The House is representative of the interests of the people. The Senate is more representative of the interest of the state. That’s why each state gets equal representation in the Senate and the House is divided up by the population density

But you only answered part of that question.

And do you really not get the point. Is that by miscommunication or by choice.

Obviously it doesn't, or you Majority Uber Alles guys wouldn't always be bitching.

I'm lost now.
It doesn't help that it's 3am and I'm suffering from major insomnia but yeah, I'm not following you.

Fair enough.
It still feels like the less populace states get more influence than they should but hey, that's just me.

You're once again failing to comprehend the incredible vastness and diversity of this country.

Why should people in the teeming 'burbs and slums of the east coast have much to say about how people thousands of miles away in South Dakota choose to live? Just because there aren't as many of thkse people? They shouldn't. The South Dakota lifestyle might be as incomprehensible to them, as the idea of people buying motor vehicles they can't legally use on the public highways was to you.

But you only answered part of that question.

If car accidents were anything similar to intentional gun crimes you may have a point but they aren't.

The clue is in the word accidents.

I still don’t see that as those people in states are being represented at the House.

Does that make you less dead. Does it make it something people fear less.

If it was functioning as a democracy (as you claim), you wouldn't have the complaint that it isn't functioning as a democracy.

It isn't meant to function purely as a democracy, because it's meant to provide some protection to the minority.
