Biden finally speaks out on granddaughter he refused to acknowledge for years

President Biden has acknowledged his granddaughter, Navy Joan Roberts, for the first time after refusing to do so for over four years.

Biden and First Lady Jill Biden had repeatedly refused to acknowledge Navy, frequently omitting her by claiming they only have "four granddaughters."

"Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward," Biden said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter," he added. "Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy."

Better late than never. Glad they had a change of heart. For someone that portrays himself as a steadfast family man, the failure to recognize his granddaughter for years really struck me as odd. Perhaps politics were more important (contrary to what he claimed above).

Better late than never. Glad they had a change of heart. For someone that portrays himself as a steadfast family man, the failure to recognize his granddaughter for years really struck me as odd. Perhaps politics were more important (contrary to what he claimed above).

Of course, it's all about politics. Hell, Jill will probably put a stocking for the little girl up on the WH mantle this Christmas...something she hasn't done the past two years.

Another misleading article. They were just keeping private - and irrelevant - matters from the public eye. 'Refusing' is a deliberate act and I'd like to see actusl public statements to that effect.

This is total BS, as is the whole subject. Biden is old, and in his generation, lots of things were private and family matters, even in politics. Presidents routinely had mistresses, and everyone politely pretended they didn't exist, because it was very bad manners to stick your nose where it didn't belong. That's why Roe v Wade made excellent sense in 1973, to a generation of people who thought things family, sexual, etc., were private.

When Reagan got elected, people made a big thing out of excusing his divorce, which to conservatives was scandalous and they had to get over it to vote for him. The threat of impeachment for Nixon wasn't anything to do with sex or private matters. The GOP, which rapidly made everyone's sex and family life every busybodies' issue went berserk over Clinton and the fact that Hillary didn't divorce him.

That's how they ended up with Trump, a guy who cheated on both former wives and then divorced them in turn to marry the next one.

When Biden was young, a guy may have had a mistress and kid on the side, but it wasn't anyone's business.
