Biden blasts GOP voting restrictions push: 'The big lie is just that -- a big lie!'

What specifics did Biden provide? Who are all the supposed individuals who are unable to register or not able to submit their vote?

It's Democrat talking points with no substance.
Par for the course in politics, however I believe and have witnessed vote suppression from any law that puts on more requirements. I've seen it from minorities, the poor, the sick and aged, and in various life circumstances. It is not that they CAN'T vote, it just discourages pafticipation in a process that we ALREADY have trouble getting enough participation in.........................voting must be ENCOURAGED, not discouraged in a democracy.

So you agree that this specific bill doesn't put on more requirments?

The bills Biden is against certainly does
round and around we go!

This is about a specific bill. One proposed in Texas, in this emergency session. That one.

'the bills Biden is against' is very vague and unhelpful. He can't remember whether he likes toast.

Yeah----I know. Yeah, Biden is against it because it discourages the vote. What to you want to know???

I see you are prone to believe the tabloids with that comment about Biden's mental health...............bye-bye 'dcsports' credibility................................

"They rammed the ramparts."

Helpful safety hint: Do not ram ramparts. They are built to be rammed and it will be disastrous. No one in history has ever rammed a rampart. It would be the most stupid thing a person could do.

That article does not prove they can't change results, it claims they won't. I do not believe that. Changing the results in "only" 4 Democratic precincts is more than enough to change the outcome.

It actually says the section has to do with getting rid of a superintendent of elections in cases of incompetence.
Such as when the superintendent oversees an election where his charge results in five hour waits at the polls...

That is one case but not the only one. Not liking the results in a precinct can also be "incompetence". Allowing partisan control of vote totals is unacceptable and you would scream to high heaven if Democrats ever tried it. It would legalize what the one term mistake asked be done so he would win in Georgia.

You say social media platforms are subject to liability if they censor someone. First, they have a right to censor members, who agreed to their ToS, who violate that ToS. It's a contract. Second, by "liability" you mean a torts action. In any tort, the plaintiff must prove liability and damages. There is no liability upon the plaintiff if the party to whom the liability is due is the defendant.
I think the Constitution supersedes their terms of service. They are not a private entity if they are acting in league with the government.

I like how the AZ GOP liars teased that their fake audit did not match the recounts, yet could not give and details.....
They are moving according to their schedule, not yours.

Well my old friend , it is good to see you. I hope you and your family are well. Don't be such a stranger. By the way, I doubt she will get your 2nd Amendment comment. I ****ing loved it.
Thanks Top. It's good to see that you are still active here. I'll probably be on here more now that things have settled down a little.

I think it is disgusting that liberals would paint their fellow Americans as Nazis in order to shut down opposing views…Yall should be ashamed of yourselves.
But you Trumpies are - if not Nazis - then at least Nazi lovers. I mean old Pumpkin Head himself said he didn't understand why we weren't fighting on Hitler's side in WWII. Hell, even the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff thinks you're Nazis.

Nope, I don't think so. I do support the Voting Rights Act of '65. Do you?

Give me an example from any of these new laws that even remotely resembles Jim Crow laws. And if you cant, then you need to call out your side for spreading the 'Big Lie.'

And yes, I know you wont do either. You will simply disappear and pretend you never saw this post.

Yeah, remember how the talk radio shouters all yelled and promoted their voter fraud meme by accusing Black Panthers of intimidating voters in Philadelphia.

Seems odd now, that the GOP is trying to pass a voter supression bill that is designed to promote the exact behavior the GOP once accused others of doing!

Allowing partisan poll watchers to oversee the casting of votes, and have free reign to wander around the polling station is pure voter intimidation. It’s the kind of thing that was outlawed over a century ago. It’s the kind of thing that corrupt political machines used.

Now, the GOP in Texas wants to bring it back.

Yeah-- states have laws that ban politicking at the polls-- such as what the Black Panthers were doing up in Philly.
And the progressives here are opposed to such laws.

Poll watchers have always been allowed at polling stations.

But yes-- politicking at the polls can be intimidating. Which is why states like Georgia ban people from handing out food and water at the polls.
So as to avoid any such problem.
But progressives are against that.

Pres Biden was on fire with passion on this subject of voter suppression when he spoke at the National Constitution Center in Philly this afternoon. I don't want to get ahead of my skies but I'm almost certain that he brought up in his speech that the AG was going to, if not already checking into the 16 states that were/are promoting voter suppression. My ears perked up because we need investigations asap to stop this insanity before it goes way too far!

"There is an unfolding assault taking place in America today, an attempt to suppress and subvert the right to vote in fair and free elections, an assault on democracy, an assault on liberty, an assault on who we are as Americans," Biden said at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Calling for a coalition of Americans across party and class lines to meet "the urgency of the moment" and stand up to GOP-led efforts in 16 states to rewrite voting laws, Biden also asked Congress to take up Democrats' proposed overhaul of the federal election system, the For the People Act, which has stalled in the Senate amid GOP opposition.

Sixteen states have enacted 28 laws that would restrict voting access, out of hundreds that have been introduced throughout the country, according to the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law.
I condemn Joe Biden for being like Hitler with his “big lie” language. Is anyone concerned the leftist president is lifting his speech lines directly from Mein Kampf?

Actually, the Black Panthers did not break the law. But the noise machine tried to make something of it because “black panther” is a trigger phrase for the angry white racist crowd, one that would light the phones up on any right wing AM radio talk show, or give Tucker Carlson something to rant about.

On the other hand, the Texas voter supression law seeks to legalize electioneering, not just outside the polling place, but inside, and right up to the spot where you cast your vote.

And no, progressives never opposed laws against electioneering too close to the polls. That’s an obvious lie. In fact, they’re the ones who got most of those laws passed.

You can make the claim “states have laws that ban politicking at the polls” all you want.

But the Texas Republicans want to not only remove that ban, but they want to make it legal for operatives to look over your shoulder when you vote.

So much for your claim.

the truth hurts doesn't it??

Yes, it does hurt when Joe Biden is literally using Hitler’s tactics. It’s so funny, because they called trump literally Hitler for four years, and yet Donald Trump never lifted a line from Mein Kampf, where is Joe Biden apparently has. In fact not apparently he has directly lifted a line from Mein Kampf
