The context of the Pelosi clip as I understand it, is that she was on a conference call talking to her grandchildren. I assume they are young because if they are teens they probably think she fell off her rocker talking to them like that, lol.

If that was a private call between a grandmother and her grandchildren I think its shameful to make this public. She is a top candidate for being my least favorite political figure of my life time but, as much as I dislike her, I think this is a really cheap shot to take, even though she isn't above doing it to others, I am above endorsing it being done to anyone.

I will also say this, as much as the left likes to liken Trumps supports as being cult like, she sounded pretty cult like in that clip. People need to stop conflating exuberance with cults.

Better take another look, in the lower right is the tag WH.Gov and there is a sign language interpreter for what she is saying, as in all official releases now. Are you imaging that her grandchildren need the sign language interpreter? Sorry, hardly a private call to her grandchildren.

Since we're talking about stuttering here, it should be noted that stutterers do go through phases where they are 100% fluent for years, and then they go through time periods where it comes back.

Who knows, Biden could have gone through a "stutter-free" period, and then it came back AFTER the death of his son.

I suspect though that the poster who made that commentary never really paid much attention to Biden's speeches. 2020 was the first-time he was actually in the spotlight as a candidate. In 1987 and 2008, he was never seen as a top-tier candidate.

But my point here has always been: Why does this matter? It feels awfully irrelevant.

I stand corrected. I got the story wrong. She wasn't talking to her grandchildren but rather she was talking about them. I heard about it on TV that was playing as background noise. I must of misunderstood what they said.

What you're doing here is cherry-picking. You took two clips from the past, and then compared it to a clip of the present.

Biden has made MANY MANY speeches over the years. He's been very fluent and disfluent over the years.

Perhaps the death of son impacted his speech. Perhaps that's why he MAY appear to be more disfluent than usual. Or perhaps the far-left and right-wing have decided to exaggerate his speech progressions over the years. And quite frankly I don't know, and to be even more blunt, I couldn't care less. Biden has shown time and time again to beat the odds.

As I mentioned before on here, I was born with a stutter myself. I've been through 12-13 years worth of speech therapy. I've gone through relapse with my speech. I have met a lot of people with different kinds of speech impediments. So again, I understand stuttering and all its forms. It appears to me that you're seriously misinformed on the condition/disorder or whatever you like to call it.

Biden crushed it in the debates. He's recently made powerful speeches which moved audiences. Why don't we dissect those speeches rather than the instances where he messed up? The reason is simple: You dislike him. Plain and simple. This is the game people do: Focus on the mishaps rather than the majority.

They're just being intellectually dishonest, and I think the reason is partisan attack, as well as their vulnerability to rightwing commentators crafting stories that support their partisan preconceptions.

He’s speaking differently. In those old clips he has energy, facial expression, gestures. There’s an alertness and a sense his brain is working and words are flowing from it. In the new clips he has no expression, no gestures, no energy and he’s struggling to read.

Hayward, CA in 1957-58 I worked for Pacific Bell and saw the women operators handling such calls.

Biden is not just stuttering, he has actual language problems.
