When covid hit, this country was in great shape. Hardly any inflation, far fewer illegals in Washington, D.C., and the middle east was doing as well as any time in recent history.

Trump got four Muslim nations to sign peace accords with Isreal. Trump got us a vaccine for covid one and two in eight months. (While it has taken more than two years for Biden to get us an updated vaccine that will protect us from versions 5 and 6 of Covid.

Gasoline is way up. Electricity is way up. Gas heating is way up. The price of food is skyrocketing.

I can't think of one thing the leftists have fixed and they have messed up lots of things that were fine before they fixed them.

Are you sure that Biden and the leftist Democrats are trying to help the poor?

When the pandemic hit, revenue was not keeping up with deficit, the tax cut wasn't paying for itself, and all we had was a bunch of revved up numbers that hurt the engine, because it all went into rich people's pockets and they only spend to extract more money from the economy.

We're just coming out of the mess created by the pandemic, for which we were fiscally unprepared thanks to Bush, the Republicans and Trump, give it a little time and the Democrats should have it running again.

Trump totally spun out Obama's healthy growing economy, with his 2017 tax cut, for which I fired him.

You win my disinformation of the week award. Revenue never keeps up with spending. The dollar has lost 90% of its value over my lifetime due to inflating the money supply. We have given the administration a little time and all it has done is to do bad things for the economy and the nation. Hopefully It can be stopped before it gets much worse.

I'm not sure why you are naive about basic economics. Tax cuts give nothing away. They only reduce government revenue. Government doesn't care about revenue. It spends whatever it wants to spend whether the money is there or not. No matter how much money you give to government it will spend it all and then spend a bunch of it above and beyond that because it can. It uses debt and inflation of the money supply. It is why our dollar has declined massively in value over the decades. Last year the government even monetized 800 billion in debt to reduce interest payments thereby taking another chunk out of the value of the dollar.

There was no boom with Clinton. There was an internet bubble. I remember idiot economists talking about the "new economy" that didn't require things like profits to fuel stock prices. Gore would have spent just like every president before him and after him. Talking about 2026 or 2030 is meaningless. You must have read something nonsensical somewhere. I agree that we are screwed "bugaloo" unless current policies change. We have turned a nicely growing economy into a recession in just over a year. It is because of government spending. Yes Trump overspent just like every president since Coolidge. But It is a matter of degree. The current administration has spent what is considered "normal" for the federal government PLUS an additional 4 trillion dollars. That is unprecedented and very bad for the nation. Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong.
