I watched the NEWSNATION coverage of Bernie Sanders and AOC. Given the predicament the Democratic Party is in I thought maybe I’d hear something newsworthy from them. Actually I wasn’t surprised when they sang the same old song and presented absolutely nothing new to the sycophantics who lapped it up. The same old socialist rattrap Bernie’s been using for 50 years.

"Tax the rich" seems to be a growing sentiment among young Americans who are seeing just how far Donald Trump's promises have taken them.

Clearly the Democrats aren't connecting with the average person.

A new song and dance wouldn't be a bad idea.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.....

2 months in office. Give it a rest Kreskin.

Now now, don't get so touchy, after just two months you can still blame everything on Joe Biden. Come see me after six months, so you can still say "6 months in office, give it a rest Kreskin."

The GOP has turned into fascism and Nazism and THIS is the big complaint.

Do you not realize using fascism and nazism has become passé? Try something original.

Are you saying this is a groundswell or was it a stacked audience?
Did you watch the video? Sounded like a few young people, likely college age, chanting "tax the rich" at first. By the end of the video, the whole crowd is chanting it. The Republican Rep is dumbfounded when he repeats it and they whole crowd cheers.

Sounds like a groundswell to me.

Only at that meeting. It’s not a national groundswell. If you disagree please feel free to post your source.

They are attracting huge crowds. Dems should not ignore that. If you think you have plenty of time to find a party leader and a party direction - you might find momentum has grown large and fast in a direction you might not think is the best direction.

The democratic party in my opinion is still in a state of denial that they lost last year. They’re basically leaderless and rudderless. AOC and Sanders aren’t what they need in a leader to get them out of their denial mindset. The democratic party doesn’t know what to do at this time. Trump has them flummoxed. Probably because after the election loss, no one stepped up to take the leadership reins. Either Schumer or Jeffries should have, they’re the two highest democratic elected officials, but both punted. It’s not like the democrats took a whipping last year. Harris lost by 1.5 points making last years election the third closest since 1888. The democrats did gain 2 house seats while losing 4 senate seats. Yes, they lost, but that is far from a whipping. Now Reagan put a whipping on the democrats back in 1980. He won by 10 points vs. Trump winning by 1.5. Reagan carried 44 states to Trump’s 31. He won the electoral college 489-49 vs. 312-226. The republicans gained 35 house seats instead of losing 2 while the GOP gained 12 senate seats vs. 4 last year. Now 1980 was a whipping.

The democrats need to stop licking their wounds and find a leader. Preferably a young, fresh blood with some charisma who can articulate what the democrats stand for. I said stand for, not just being against Trump. Someone who can get their message out to the public. There’s a wide opening for that someone as Trump isn’t a popular president. A plurality of Americans disapprove of the job he’s doing. But that someone must step up. That someone isn’t Sanders, AOC either. Schumer and Jeffries have given the leadership role a pass. Who?

If the Democrats are not careful, their party's leadership vacuum will be filled by their party's idiots.
Who else do they have? No one. The whole lot of them are garbage. At least Bernie isn't a Democrat. At least Bernie champions working class Americans. That automatically makes him better than every other American politician, none of whom give a flying **** about working class people.

No, Bernie is a recreational Bolshevik with a history of fawning over left-wing dictators. If he wasn't gushing about living conditions in the Soviet Union he was romanticizing the accomplishments of the Castro brothers. He's an old fool who's been on the wrong side of history for the last 40 years.

Is that your only argument against him as a politician? That he praised living conditions in the Soviet Union, and romanticized the accomplishments of the Castro brothers?

Exactly. Laziness and delay could most certainly lead to that leadership vacuum being filled. I was quite surprised by a video of a recent Bernie/AOC event in AZ. I'd say they are very actively working to fill that void. The participation was huge and energetic and would indicate to me they are quite successfully filling that void. It's going to quickly become harder and harder for a person like Clyburn to step in and interfere with or stop that kind of momentum.

That he's a socialist clown with an inability to see the inherent danger that comes from excessive centralization of political authority?

Absolutely.

They're both playing on the worst instincts of the political left: their need to feel morally superior to those with whom they disagree politically.

Sanders and AOC will make plenty of noise, and honestly do a good job at working up the some of the voters based on *the very subjects* they ignored in 2024.

Don't tax the rich.

Eat them.

Tastes like chicken!
