Hows your facts now?

Still better than yours. I am talking about embassies. And just for the record when repubs took over congress in 2010, in 2011 and 2012 they cut funding to embassy security.

Try again, ;) those Are Embassies and Consulates..... Btw thats 7 and it doesn't even Count the Attempted Kidnapping of the Consulates Security in Aug of 2012.....nor does it count last Months attempted Kidnapping of a CIA and Delta Operator in Yemen. Which that News was reported Early this morning. Albeit from Last month when the incident occurred.

Yeah and just for the Record Politi-Fact took care of that half truth.
shrug.gif

But that's still don't explain why State Dept didn't pay to have Iron Gates Put back up after they had a hole blown thru them with the Second attack on the Consulate back in March of 2012. Which btw.....back then. Was when Ansar al Sharia left its calling card.

Mornin Ttwtt :2wave: .....looks like their fallback position is to try and use the half truth claim about the Repubs cutting Security.

Also lets not forget Right after the Attack.....BO sent a couple of Ships there. So the excuse about FBI team and that they would need security. Was nothing more than an excuse and not a very good one.

Since the UK's Guardian and Brit reporters as well as other reporters all had access to the Consulate weeks after the attack and they still were pulling docs and evidence out of there. Yet where was our People.

But note today how BO got a 10 man team to Nigeria an a matter of a few days.
MMC...I wouldnt get too excited about the deployment of personnel to Nigeria as an accomplishment. After all...the incident actually occurred back on 14 April. The best we could muster previously was a few tweets with a sign and a sad panda face. I guess that is what passes for diplomacy these days.

I don't know if what you are saying is true or not, but the topic in this post is Benghazi. I think the latest repub inquiry is a total waste of time and money. Yes mistakes were made and my original post was let's not let happen again. It would be nice if repubs would work together instead of continuing a political witch hunt.

Yeah I know.....but its the point of what emotional outrage can actually do. Also truthfully.....the Nigerians only asked us to help few days ago. Some said the Nigerian Military knew this attack was coming.

I had a thread up in the Africa Forum on BH back in March of this year when they Started Sending Warnings and singing songs about what they were going to do.

Yeah, its true that how many Embassies and Consulates have been hit Under BO's term. So it was never one like you thought.

Yes it is about Benghazi but this just isn't about the Repubs. As the Polls show.

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of voters were following the Benghazi story at least somewhat closely in April, including 38% who were following very closely. Seventy-three percent (73%) are following it now, with 39% who are following very closely.

Eighty-two percent (82%) believe it is at least somewhat important to find out exactly what happened in the events surrounding the ambassador’s murder, up slightly from 78% in the previous survey. The new finding includes 55% who think it is Very Important. Only 15% say it’s not very or not at all important.

Sixty-one percent (61%) believe the murder was a terrorist act. Just seven percent (7%) disagree, while 32% are not sure. Only 38% think it is even somewhat likely that the murderers of the ambassador will be caught and punished, with 11% who say it is very likely. These views, too, are virtually unchanged.

Republicans remain much more interested in the Benghazi story than Democrats and voters not affiliated with either major party. GOP voters are twice as likely as Democrats – 53% to 27% – to be following it very closely.

Fifty-two percent (52%) of Democrats think the Obama administration has done a good or excellent job explaining what happened in Libya. But just eight percent (8%) of Republicans and 27% of unaffiliated voters agree.

Perhaps in part this is because only 39% of voters in the president’s party share the view of 78% of Republicans and 61% of unaffiliateds that the ambassador’s murder was a terrorist act.....snip~

Update: The Democrats will Boycott the Select Committee.....now they Pay that Price.
yes.gif
Like they should.....this will help even more with the Mid Term.

Pelosi: We Won't Be Sending Democrats to Benghazi Select Committee Because Fairness......

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to Speaker John Boehner this afternoon saying she would not be sending any Democrats to sit on the Benghazi select committee because it "isn't fair," or something. More from the Washington Examiner:.....snip~

Now what the American people should do.....is drag Pelosi kicking and screaming into the hearing. Make her sit and watch.....until those measures get handed out and she feels what it is like to pass something without the her side being at the table.

Because of fairness?
I'm speechless.

Heya Slyhunter. :2wave: Yeah that's what she had the nerve to say.....since they first brought it up. She has been whining and crying. Seems she don't like it when that shoe is on the other foot.

Either way.....the Repubs will now be able to control the narrative. While the Demos can stand on the sidelines talking about how they are just politicking it with the Polls of what it says on what the American people think about the whole issue. Sticking in their face as they go into the Midterm.

Here are some very interesting results on Benghazi by the polling firms of Anderson Robbins Research (D) / Shaw & Company Research (R) which released these today. Apparently most Americans think the Special Committee is a good thing, that the Obama administration lied, but also that the Republicans are only doing this for political gain, that they are not really interested in getting to the truth. Talk about a pox on both houses or should I say parties?

Do you approve or disapprove of Congress establishing a special committee to investigate the U.S. government’s decisions and activities surrounding the September 11, 2012 terrorist attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans?
Approve 67%
Disapprove 28%
(Don’t know) 4%

In the aftermath of the Benghazi terrorist attacks, the Obama administration incorrectly claimed it was a spontaneous assault in response to an online video, even though the administration had intelligence reports that the attacks were connected to terrorist groups tied to al Qaeda. Do you think the Obama administration knowingly lied about the attacks to help the president during the ongoing re-election campaign, or not?
Yes 51%
No 39%
(Don’t know) 11%

Do you think Republicans in Congress who are investigating the Benghazi terrorist attacks are mostly doing it to get to the truth about what happened or are they mostly doing it for political gain?
Get to the truth 30%
For Political gain 63%
(Don’t know) 7%

Yeah Pero.....but this one also shows whats up too.

Especially with the Narrative from MS Media......and the left that no one cares, and forgetaboutit. :lamo

Republicans continue to shamelessly exploit this tragedy for purely partisan political gain.

Anyone who thinks this is anything other than an attempt to discredit Hillary before 2016 needs to have their head examined.

and the Democrats are doing everything they can to discredit Republicans over it....for purely partisan political gain.

I know I'm tired as ****ing hell of people whining about Benghazi, yes, "Dude it was like 2 years ago". Much bigger things to worry about in the PRESENT.

Yes, it's been two years...and everyone has been brought to justice just as the President promised...

I think prior to this special committee hitting the airwaves, most people had put Benghazi on a shelf in a closet in the back of their brain. This I is probably truer with independents/affiliates than Republicans as the majority of them thought something sinister had happened there from the beginning. So the question now that arrises is how long these independents/unaffiliates will remain interested? This group doesn't follow politics all that closely and their attention span is a whole lot shorter than the other two groups. They are very likely to quickly put Benghazi back on that shelf in the closet of their brain when nothing hot hits the airwaves.

I think of the answers to the 3 polling questions I posted can be summed up as most Americans saying, yeah we know the president and his administration lied about it and are covering up something, but that is what politicians and presidents in Washington do, they lie to us all the time. That the republicans are not really interested in the getting at the truth, they really only want to make Obama and his party look bad, but that too is nothing new as it is what the other party does all the time anyway. There is no trust factor in what goes on in Washington these days. When it comes to things like integrity, truthfulness, honesty, ethical, the vast majority of Americans rate used car salesmen higher on these traits than our elected leaders in Washington.

You might be surprised by the number of independents who follow the news/politics very closely.
