What is wrong with Glenn Beck? He has attacked this professor to the point that she is now getting death threats, and when confronted, he makes a joke about it.

Have Republicans/conservatives lost all sense of civility? All sense of what is right and wrong? It sure seems so. And, if this Prof Piven happens to end up dead one day, I am sure the majority of Reps/cons will all claim they had absolutely nothing to do with it!

 

Yeah it's terrible Beck is. I mean he should do it right, by producing a "fictional" account of Piven being assassinated or writing a book on how to do it. Then he wouldn't get any criticism, it'd be art.
 


I don't care. If Piven feels insecure, let her hire bodyguards. This is just payback for the death threats from the left while Bush was president. Remember the play called Checkpoint in which Bush's assassination was portrayed? The left created this atmosphere and now must live with the consequences of it's own violent rhetoric.
 

Beck gets lots of legitament death threats. He spends lots of money on security.

I find it rather funny that he reports Piven's own words and he is the one who isn't being civil. Where's piven's civility.

Where's the media's honesty. they report her as some little old sweet widow who wrote something forty yrs ago. Yea, right. She wrote this stuff just this month.

LOL I just listened to the audio. It was hilarious unless you are a fan of NYT. Didn't you find it even a teeny bit funny?
 

Do you realize how insane that sounds? So much is wrong with this that I barely know where to start. Since someone else wrote a play you didn't like it's OK for Beck to attack a 78 year old woman and it's OK for her to get death threats. Really?!? Did Ms Piven write the play? President Bush was a public figure and chose to be a public figure. Does that make death threats against him acceptable, of course not, but it is something someone in his position must expect. The president also has the protection of the Secret Service. What protection does this woman have? How is a play about the assassination of a public figure justification for death threats to a private citizen?Since when is saying, "they did it first," a justification for bad behavior? OK, when since 3rd grade? This attitude is what is responsible for the sorry state of our political system.
 

She shares no responsibility for any of those threats. Those responsible are only those who made the threats, not anyone who may share more politically with them than you do. Since when is guilt by association a justification for anything? American politics isn't a gang war, one does not respond to an attack with an indiscriminate attack against any member of whatever group the attackers belonged to. That is not justice, justice is the measured precise and controlled infliction of punishment on the specific individual(s) responsible for an illegal action, not an indiscriminate and uncontrolled response which will inevitable punish someone not involved at all.

You make me sick.
 

Piven is a well known public figure who created a movement along with Cloward. She inspired Saul Alinsky. Great man.

She can afford to hire bodyguards. This is the New America that the left created. It is what it is.

See this is proof that the left intends to use the Giffords shooting as a political tool to suppress decent. What we have hear is a Russian-Jewish Marxist from Canada who brought her brand of politics into the United States. If she wasn't a citizen, I'd say deport her ass. She wants a national minimum income level. We are capitalist, everyone earns their own keep.
 

So, you support deporting people with viewpoints that you disagree with? The tolerance of the right.
