Bari Weiss to be named top editor at CBS News

That's what competing networks and news outlets are about.

This is nothing but once again the administrative branch of the Federal Government bullying organizations into doing what they want.

If you were a real conservative, you would be against that and you're not.
Ironically Bari Weiss reported partially about the coercive censorship programs by a few regimes over the last decade or so.

He is, which should have meant beating him at the polls would be a slam dunk.

But the Democrats chose to run Harris, who had less popularity than a tick. Amazing that they could screw up such an easy win, but they managed to find someone even less popular than Trump.

No, no, no, no, no.

Listen, I hold Biden responsible for his part in all this, in a way, he's one of the worst Presidents of all time.

1: For failing to step aside. He should committed to one term and allowed for a primary process to happen for a candidate in 2024 that may have been better, but that's all fine and well to say in hindsight, but his actions were a big contributor to the nightmare we live through today.

2: For pardoning his son. I get it on a human level, but I thought he was made of sterner stuff.

3: Pre-Emptive pardons, the single most dangerous thing I can imagine in the hands of a President and I hope they get nullified.

But none of this, excuses the personal responsibility, which conservatives like you are supposed to believe in, for voting for someone as bad as Trump in the first place.

There is no excuse, no excuse whatsoever.

And then with things like the OP, to circle back, You're supposed to be a conservative, you're supposed to be against government interfering in private businesses, private affairs as much as possible.

And instead, your grievance politics, instead of their being competing networks, which their already are, we get this from you:

I think it’s important to have voices representing different political views in the media.

You're endorsing the executive federal branch, the President himself, basically directly leaning on CBS, dangling a merger deal over them as well as Pressure on their license to hire people they approve of.

Or recently in the case of Microsoft, fire people they don't approve of.

I've been told, free market and personal responsibility for decades from people like you.

You betray both in this situation.

You ain't no conservative.

Looks like Fox News will be getting some big network direct competition for its viewers. Should be interesting.

That's weird. Leftists have this strange loyalty to their news sources. They will defend them even when wrong. Because they don't know they're wrong. No discernment. It's like the old joke" How do you know someone listens to NPR A: Because they'll tell you. Same with PBS and other liberal sources like the NYT or WaPO.

We were a CBS news family when I was growing up. However, I'm not going to watch it fauxify itself. "Good night, and good luck," CBS.

Rumors about this move were leaked a few weeks ago, but it sounds like it’s more concrete now. I like Bari Weiss, even where I disagree with her.
All we ask from over the air broadcast networks is fairness. They don't have to be Fox News but they shouldn't be MSNBC either. I'm glad to see the media being more middle of the road instead of just being shills for the democrat party. We've still got a ways to go but I like the overall direction.

Leftists! Those wily buggers. Ya gotta keep an eye on them, so you do. They just keep trying to nose out of their fences while squirting out safe milk and health care. Let them run, and before you know it, and they'll be inoculating the wee ones with science to prevent them from acquiring their character building Diphtheria experiences.

Over air broadcasts have the same content as other news media. All news media has an editorial point of view. It has always been this way. But even middle of the road can’t ignore the total bullshit coming from Trump. There is no way to be neutral if Trump is not honest or factual. All politicians get called on their bullshit.

Weird again.

Considering I never voted for Trump, your opinion of my conservativeness is a huge fail, but you should be used to that by now.

What a cowardly response.

Where did I assert you did?

It was a commentary on Trump voters bearing zero responsibility for voting for him in the first place, where you want to put where we are entirely on Harris being terrible, but no responsibility for those who KNOWINGLY voted for a monster.

And not addressing at all, the Federal Government intervening in private enterprise to the extent at all.

Cowardly.

I'll question your conservativeness all day long.

Harris lost because she was a really bad candidate. The facts bear that out quite clearly. That you continue to blame Trump voters for your preferred candidate’s loss is beyond weak. In fact, it’s just plain stupid.

Still, refusing to address the massive intervention in the private market that you are supporting in this case.

And no, I absolutely do blame people for voting for Trump as part of the equation.

There is no good reason, for any good, thinking, rational and reasonable person to vote for people like Trump.

Yet they did, I will hold them responsible for what he has done, they either knew what he would do and supported it, or didn't and were negligent.

Free Markets and Personal Responsibility.

You betray both and are no conservative.

Oh bullshit. Trump should have been the easier candidate to beat ever, and the Democrats completely ****ed it up by finding the only candidate worse than Trump. That’s 100% on the Democrats. They couldn’t even get close to the number of votes Biden received. It’s really pathetic you and people like you have such willful blindness about this. Run better candidates. It’s so simple even a baboon could get it, but apparently Democrats aren’t able to.

Thrice.

Thrice the gentleman outright REFUSES to address the real point.

How cowardly of you.

Truly, the pressure the President and his goons are putting on media organizations is off the charts and your OP is just the TIP of the iceberg in terms of what is going on.

And you REFUSE, outright REFUSE to address that criticism in the fact you are basically celebrating it in this case, if you were a conservative, the kind of interference in the market that is occurring, should draw your ire like the hand of god, but it doesn't.

And people who vote for evil, are not off the hook buddy guy, I have leveled the criticism on Bidens actions quite clearly in this thread if you bothered to read them and they are PART of the equation.

But I hold responsible, those who knowingly voted for evil and have allowed it to flourish.

You are condoning a portion of that evil in this thread, what happened here in regards to your OP is but a tiny sliver of the attempt at full blown authoritarianism in America and you're supporting it.

Wake up.
