So far all gestures of goodwill have been from the Russian side. Ukraine has been extremely stingy when it comes to goodwills. Very unsportsmanlike. No chivalry from Stepan Banderas, no surprise there. That leaves the Russian Army no choice but to wrench one from Ukraine. And Bakhmut appears to be ripe for the picking.
Hints at the determination of the Russian Patriotic Army to exact a gesture of goodwill from Zelensky registered on the headlines like a week ago or so, when the Orc Army grabbed a now famous Alfa gas station to the north east of Bakhmut. Capture of a gas station registering in the news! Attests to the intensity of the combats. The Waffen SS was tough; its progeny: Azov, Kraken etc from Kyiv are also tough. So slow going for the world famous Wagner Orchestra.
But things appear to have picked up. To the consternation of New York Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph... Alarmist and apocalyptic headlines. The New York Times wailed about Bakhmut becoming the vortex of two militaries; The Guardian moaned about a descent to trench warfare; the Telegraph wailed about Passchendaele.
Lets get one thing clear: these media gentlemen are not mourning the death of Russian soldiers. If the grim reaper was busy only on the Russian side the New York Times, Guardian and Telegraph headlines would have been full of glee. These gentlemen are aghast because this knell of doom they hear tolls for Ukrainian Bakhmut.
What exactly happened at Bakhmut that so disturbed the New York Times, The Guardian and The Telegraph?
It appears the world renowned Wagner Ochestra, after a rather long hiatus at the approaches to Bakhmut, is itching to perform in City Center. The Ukro squatters inside Bakhmut wont allow the Orchestra entrance through the eastern entrance, so the Orchestra is busting its way in from the south through andriivka, Zelenopilla, Ozarianivka, the southern gates into Bakhmut
So, is Ukraine gonna gracefully hand over Bakhmut, or does the Wagner Ochestra have to wrench it from them a la Mariupol?
