Back-Alley Abortions or how the market helped women bypass the state

Abortion protections were lost due the undemocratic aspects of our system, not because of democracy.

lol, sorry, but that's bullshit. Progressives believed (and still believe) that the state should control every aspect of your life. I'll be starting a thread on this topic soon.

Uhhh... what? LOL

Gee, that sounds like a government problem to me. Don't forget that your beloved government also prohibited black people from owning firearms.

Who would make slavery illegal in AnCapistan? Do you think that in the absence of government the slave owners would permit their slaves to own firearms?

Pray tell, how is an unelected body of judges with no real checks and balances democratic?

It sounds more like the kind of system you want.

1) There's nothing wrong with lower quality at lower prices.

2) Capitalism is constantly improving goods and services for the poor. Virtually every product in a competitive market improves over time.

Under the current system whereby capitalists cannot provide harmful goods without facing government regulation.

Under your no regulation system, what would stop companies from flooding poor people with goods that are absolutely toxic?

Pray tell, how is an unelected body of judges with no real checks and balances democratic?

I'd say the burden is on you to explain how you are going to high quality decisions by selecting judges via a popularity contest.

Women everywhere appreciate that taking us back to back alley abortions is a win for the free markket.

I am willing to bet ten bucks the OP wasn't even alive in the pre-Roe era.

Not only was I very much alive, I was also already sexually active...not much but nevertheless I still was.
And my first wife actually volunteered at a Planned Parenthood office for about eight months after she endured one of those pre-Roe back alley procedures a couple of years prior, vowing to "pay it forward". Her job was simply to "hold the hand" of prospective patients and be supportive, which was very much appreciated.

So anyway, I'm kind of fed up listening to youngsters who weren't even alive back then "explaining what it was like".

Yep. Elections never result in anyone of quality in an office. Which is why all corporate executives are incompetent right?

Any word on this @aociswundumho ?

Who outlaws slavery in AnCapistan? Do you think slaveowners would let their slaves own guns in the absence of government?

Good luck enslaving people who are armed.

Do you think slaveowners would let their slaves own guns in the absence of government?

It was the state that prohibited slaves from owning guns:

XXXV: No slave shall carry or possess firearms or any other weapons, nor leave the designated plantation or land without a written certificate of permission from their master.

That's your system, not mine. That's democracy in action.

Good luck enslaving people who are armed.

Do you really think slaveowners would have allowed their slaves to own guns in the absence of a law?

Is every single person going to be armed at all times and never sleep in AnCapistan?

Again, good luck enslaving someone who is armed.

One of the reasons the left gets so much wrong is their distorted view of human nature.

Fun fact: lots of slaves in history were armed before becoming slaves.

No response @aociswundumho ? Going to just ignore the long history of armed peoples being taken as slaves?

Are children going to be expected to always be armed in AnCapistan? Will I have to sleep with a gun in my hand to keep my freedom?

The world is a very different place now. Today only about half of one percent of the world's population is enslaved, and that's with strict gun control laws everywhere.

Because governments have outlawed slavery. Government that you want to not exist.
