Austrailia bill requires Muslim women to lift veil.

My opinion? Is I have no opinion about a country that will never effect me in any way.
 
My opinion is that there's already a serviceable thread on this subject
 
Other than for entering government buildings and other secured locations, this is nothing more than legislated morality. :shrug:

that turn of phrase says something--idk what, but something.

I see no reason to try and stop Australia's legislature.

I doubt that the law will actually have much impact, other than being yet another law on the books. So, even though it might be extraneous or possibly redundant, I don't see any reason to try and stop it.
 
It's not an unreasonable request. If someone needs to ask for your identification, they need to see your face.

Agreed, much ado about nothing. I recall when a muslim woman refused to remove her burqua for her drivers license photo, then sued because she was refused a license. Does anyone honestly think that police requesting identification can stare at a pair of eyeballs and say, "Yep, that's her!" :lol: An illogical fuss about a logical requirement, in my opinion.
