Looks like the insurgency has some help in procurement. Have their members join the Iraqi army and police forces, get the weapons, then take those weapons back to the insurgency. Now they can use our own weapons against us.

Everybody knows how I feel about Iraq, but since we are there, how about a little quality control by not letting just anybody join up. That way, our troops dont get fired upon with our own weapons.

Having said that, I must admit that this might seem like a tall order, trying to figure out which Iraqis are with us, and which are against us. So maybe my suggestion is extreme in that it is undoable, but so is wanting to win so badly that we will pass out weapons to just about anybody who wants them. That, of course, is the same as saying "Here are your weapons, now shoot us".

So how about some suggestion that comes in the middle of not giving any weapons out and giving them out to everybody? I am sure that a little quality control is in order. After all, it is our own guys whose lives are on the line, so the indiscriminate passing out of weapons in the hopes of bringing the insurgency under control is a very bad idea. Of course, so is not giving any weapons out. We need be able to arm the right Iraqis if we are somehow going to be able to disengage from the Iraq war.

Anybody else with constructive thoughts on this? I would like the topic to be narrowly confined to this, so please do not attempt to derail it by making it a referendum on Bush, and do not derail it by slamming the Democrats either. Lets keep this discussion focused.

In other words, no Democrat or Republican political talking heads or freepers allowed in this thread. Thank you.

I'm disappointed. Your limitations won't allow me to post what I wanted to, and it was real funny. If somebody else derails your thread, I'll come back and post it.
